I am still sitting in line. When I just came I only saw a unit clerk in the report here first desk. It was 1,5 hours ago. I even have not seen a triage nurse. The reason I am here because I need an emergent assistance and I have not even been called to see a nurse to determine my order in line. This is not professional. And then I have to seat and wait in inexpensive to see a doctor. You have to be fast, efficient and organized to help people like me in the emergency care.
I went into the ER with an accute appendicitis, at 9.00 am. I informed the nurse that it was painful, hoping that it would be speedily removed before it ruptured. I was kept in the waiting area of the triage for 12 hours before I was taken in to the OR. The admitting doctor, dr. Sundeep Dhaliwal showed wanton incompetence when he rejected my own diagnosis ( who the devil am I to know what is wrong with me, right?) and not to administer a quick ultrasound. Instead he put me through an X-ray and later through a CT scan. Both detrimental to a body. While he was looking for God knows what, the appendix had burst. The operating surgeon had to clean the mess inside of me pretty thoroughly not to let inflamation of the abdominal lining set in. On the other hand I have nothing but praise for the surgeon, dr. Scott Cowie and his OR staff. It was my lucky day he was on duty then. I am doing well now but the whole triage experience was awful. Hope to never have to deal with that disorder again.
I have to go to Langley Memorial for IV therapy once a week. In the last year or so it has gotten progressively worse with the treatment from certain nurses. They refuse to make appointments when the doctor has stated that urgent medications are needed. They refuse to do lab work when required by doctor on the flimsy excuse that they are over booked and yet there's 3 patients in the clinic and 4 nurses on duty. Even when they say they are over booked I constantly see them sitting for up to half an hour visiting with just certain patients about inane things, nothing to do with their medical profession or the care of that particular patient, to the extreme that they will let others IV's empty and have call buttons going off that they ignore. Something has to be done about the situation. And being the fact that I can't go anywhere else to have this medication administered, every time I'm up there I get angrier and angrier which is not conducive to getting better
I am 21 weeks pregnant went in with awful pains in my stomach emergency called maternity to see me, they said no since I wasn't 24 weeks after waiting in the room for over hours my husband and I left to go elsewhere because was so afraid my baby wasn't ok. Awful experience
Brought my 10 year old in as had a head gash at school. 8 hours later and several begging session later, the doc came. 5 mins later we were out and home. Seriously need to look at a triage room and a trauma room. That way triage patients won’t take up valuable trauma time. Will NEVER go there again.
