I have seen Dr Clarke on two occasions. My experience with her was rather unfortunate. After my eyes were dilated, she commenced the exam. When I flinched and blinked (uncontrolled as I have MS) raised her voice at me to sit still and keep my eyes open. The rest of the exam didn't go well and I left very upset. In my experience, she seemed rude, abrupt and uncaring.
I recall she was very caring and showed a sense of humour with him. He liked her very much.
Everyone has a bad day, so I trust that I just happened to see her on an off day.

A very unprofessional manner. She is rude and abrupt. during my first eye exam she went so quickly that I asked her to go slower to which she refused. My vision with my glasses was not very clear and I could not wait to get my next prescription. About two years later, I asked her to slow down again but she would not and so I asked her to start from my last prescription. She said she did not know what that was because I had changed it. I could see the change in my file clipped to the front page and so pointed it out to her. She made no reply.
Also the doctor who had made the referral, who also has many bad reviews from people with similar experiences to the one I had with him, called Dr. Margo Clark, which the College of Pharmacists and Physician said was inappropriate and unethical for him to do. He gave his own distorted version of my visit with him to Dr. Clark as well as my family physician. He used his degree to create a false credibility to his story to hide his unprofessional behaviour and to cause difficulty for me. Dr. Clark also behaved incredibly unprofessionally on my visit to her as a result of this.
On my visit to her office, she walked abruptly into the room; she did not say hello or address me at all, but swung her testing lenses into my face so they hit me and then as I mentioned above she would not slow down and said she did not know what my last prescription was. When I left I said that she had behaved unprofessionally and I would not book anymore appointments with her.

Had Dr. Clarke for many years now. She's direct and knowledgeable and no nonsense, and staff friendly, even when very busy. Only complaint has been waiting times. Otherwise, Dr. Clarke is great.

She may seem brusk, but she's also doesn't run late. She answers questions when you don't dawdle in the asking. I'm monitored for signs of macular degeneration and she's always been polite and professional with me. I'm not seeing her to go chat over tea.

After reading the reviews, I was not looking forward to my appt with Dr. Clarke! But I was pleasantly surprised... I waited about an hour in the squishy waiting room (not an empty seat in the place) but when I saw Dr. Clarke she was very efficient yet thorough. Another review said something about her being "robotic", well I noticed that too but I actually liked it! It was when she was putting the different lenses in front of my eyes - it was one after the other, no lingering around, let's get this done... during the appt she smiled, she laughed, and I perceived her to be very nice. She answered all my questions and was very professional and knowledgable. Staff was super nice, on the phone and as well in person. I felt like I was in good hands and I really trust Dr. Clarke. She might not be bff material but she is definitely good at what she does.

It seems Dr. Clarke is knowledgeable. Too bad she does not see the value in common curtsey and manners. She did not make eye contact, did not introduce herself, I found her very impatient and unkind. I hope as she ages she finds the medical professionals looking after her are more compassionate. I was shocked at her rudeness.

I was not looking forward to seeing Dr. Clarke on this second time in a year, as she was curt, cold and on the border of being rude.Well what a change, this year she was more friendly, gentler and it was a was a wonderful change. I look forward to my next visit. Keep doing what you are doing Dr.

Dr. Clarke is not burning out - she just is who she is. She's very busy because she is an excellent ophthalmologist. Her manner isn't warm & cuddly, but she isn't unapproachable - she doesn't suffer fools gladly. I saw her a great many times over a period of a couple of decades. She is thorough & very knowledgeable - able to correctly diagnose a disease that a number of specialists in her field as well as other fields were unable to determine. She was first referred to me on an emergency basis & not only did she wait for me to arrive at the end of what was, for her, a very long & busy day - she stayed to examine & treat my ailing eye until 7 p.m. I would have lost the sight of that eye had it not been for her expertise. I can't speak highly enough on her behalf.

I recently visited Dr. Clarke for the first time & found her to be very uncommunicative & officious. I was not given an opportunity to ask questions or to voice my concerns. As well, I too was not given neutralizing drops on a sunny day nor warned of driving immediately afterward. I would not recommend Dr. Clarke nor will I see her again.

I would like to add my name to my crticism of Dr. Clarke which I posted on 7/2/08 beginning with the words, "In l998..." I feel that criticism of this kind should not be done anonymously. Truman Green Surrey, BC
