Dr. Lam misdiagnosed me with Parkinson's Disease and treated me for several months while the condition was rapidly deteriorating. After he advised me to just stop taking the medicine and it would get out of my system, I began to have seizures, high fever, hallucinations, and was unable to walk. I spent 6 weeks in the hospital where I was immediately diagnosed correctly with Serotonin Syndrome. This included one week one life support and months of physical, occupational, and speech therapy(due to problems with emergency intubation), I called Dr. Lam's office staff after this to talk with him. I had absolutely no intent to sue him but I never heard a word of concern or any type of apology of human compassion from him. It feels pretty lousy to know you almost died and the physician treating you didn't care at all.

One of the kindest doctors I've ever met. Took his time and answered all of my questions.

Dr. Lam is an excellent neurologist. He treats a variety of neurological conditions. If admitted as an inpatient, he does not see patients at the hospital nor answer calls after hours. That is the work of Dr. Benjamin Shtrahman, a neurologist at Passavant hospital that only treats inpatients. He is prompt at returning phone calls, refilling prescriptions, and answering messages on myUPMC.
