I’m going to keep this review short, on February 17, 2021 Dr. French repaired my ACL ligament and meniscus in my left knee, it was a long painful recovery but I can say just over two years later that I have my full enjoyment of life back, and I am back doing freestyle, flatland BMX. I cannot think this man enough for just fixing me, And doing one hell of a fantastic job. In fact, my knee works better than before my injury, thank you so much Dr. French you are awesome.

I am an avid mountain biker that likes to take silly risks which makes me a frequent patient of Dr. French. I had ACL reconstruction and a meniscus root repair in September 2022, a scar tissue removal and MUA in February 2023, and a wrist break reconstruction in August of 2021. Both my knee and wrist were on the more challenging side to repair because we like to keep things interesting but that did not stop Dr. French from completing excellent work. Dr French was thorough at addressing all of my questions before and after surgery. His assistant Barbara was an absolute gem dealing with my many emails and phone calls during a challenging recovery from knee surgery. For my knee, I did consider going to Banff and had a consult at the U of C Clinic in Calgary however, I felt my case was analyzed more on an individual basis with Dr. French. Being my case was urgent since I had a locked knee from my injury, Dr. French was able to prioritize my surgery and I was able to get in within a month after my injury. On top of all of these wonderful things, he has a lovely bedside manner and a good sense of humour.

Of note, he is rarely on time and you should expect to wait 2 hours after your appointment time on average to see him. I have a feeling this has more to do with our healthcare system that Dr. French himself. Bring a book or laptop to work or watch a movie. He is definitely worth the wait and takes his time to answer all of your questions.

I waited 4 yrs for ACL surgery thanks to errors by my family doctor and Rocky Mountain Health.
By the time I saw Dr French I was ready to give up.
He took the time to hear my 4 yr struggle, help me make a decision for long term knee health and was incredibly patient with me. He is knowledgeable in his field and has great bedside manner from assessment to post op.
Would recommend him in a heartbeat. His staff was also amazing to deal with.

I was referred to Dr. French by another knee surgeon. I had ruptured my MPFL last summer and even though I had done months of physiotherapy and exercise, it wasn't 100%. I also have trochlear dysplasia, meaning the groove where my kneecap is supposed to sit never formed properly. I found Dr. French to be pleasant and thorough in his findings. I was from out of town but drove two hours to see him for the consultation. He found other issues with my knee that other surgeons had not found. He ordered an MRI right away and proceeded to get the ball rolling for surgery. I have zero complaints and am pleased that he was able to help with my knee instability. The wait can sometimes be long but it's also because he spends time with each patient.

Had my ACL repaired in May of this year. Amazing results so far, extra pain is due to rehab. He has what i call DR French time. If you are booked at 9am you will see him at 1030.

I read a past review and completely agree. I don't feel heard by him, I'll wait an hour, he'll be ten minutes late and create excuses as to why I'm still in pain. As to say for the surgery itself, my knee has EVEN LESS range of motion and months after am still in as much or more pain than I was before my surgery. Be very wary of this man and assume most of his good reviews are either fake or just lucky paitents.
