Dr Poad's impudence and brashness is disguised as straightforwardness or pragmatism.

What was seemingly a positive experience turned sour after discussing the current health issue and previous surgery that was unsuccessful - with unusually defensive, accusatory and bizarre behaviour from Dr Poad.

The Hippocratic Oath states:

I will maintain, by all the means in my power, the honour and the noble traditions of the medical profession;

It also states:

I will not permit considerations of age, disease or disability, creed, ethnic origin, gender, nationality, political affiliation, race, sexual orientation, social standing or any other factor to intervene between my duty and my patient;

I reiterate one part of the statement: 'I will not permit considerations of age, disease...or any other factor to intervene between my duty and my patient'. Or any other factor. Very clearly stated in the Hippocratic Oath.

It is my solemn belief that Dr Poad has breached this Oath.

If it was possible to give zero rating I would’ve. Dr is very rushed & seriously doesn’t listen. My daughter had a high risk pregnancy & baby was born 31 weeks via vertical cs with a hysterectomy at the same time. She lived on OxyContin for 2+ weeks & of course lost so much weight. When she was discharged after 10 days post op she went straight to family Dr & diagnosed with a hernia & blood clot in a vein wrapped around her ovary as well as a free flowing mass of blood in her abdomen. Our Dr spoke to Dr Poad who denied all of this. After another week of pain my daughter called an ambulance back to hospital & Di Poad decided to operate & remove the ovary & the mass which had doubled in size she also spoke to a vascular surgeon who advised for her to insert a filter to catch any of the mass/blood clot, she didn’t but proceeded with the operation anyway. My daughter had a pulmonary embolism on the table & a blood clot went through her heart & up to her brain where she had a massive stroke. She spent one week on life support and although the Drs tried their very best to save her but we’re unable to. She left behind 4 kids with the baby being 5 weeks. The turmoil of losing our only daughter at 27 was and still is unbearable, we have never even had so much as an apology.

Dr Poad is exceptional. For years I was turned away by doctors for severe menstrual pain and bad periods. Dr Poad actually listened to me and got me into the investigative endometriosis surgery that I had been trying to get for eight years - but no other doctors took me seriously. The procedure was clean and professional and went great! She found and removed the endometriosis. She answered all my questions at the follow-up consult and has really made me feel heard. I have never felt heard with my menstrual issues before. She is amazing and I have recommended her to everyone I know struggling with menstrual issues.

Went to Dr Poad for gyno issues and she was very upfront and provided excellent service. I had a procedure with her and I was so impressed with her level of care, accuracy and efficiency. My procedure was finished earlier than expected and she gave a great level of care. Would definitely recommend her, highly experienced, very efficient and provided a high level of care.

Dr Poad has provided me with treatment and advice for conditions ranging from cervical cancer to miscarriage and pregnancy. She's an excellent clinician and a fantastic surgeon. If a warm back rub and a gentle hug from your doctor is on your list of 'important requirements', she's not your specialist. If you value clear advice about your condition and treatment options, and want a skilled specialist managing your obstetric and gynecological care, I cannot recommend Dr Poad highly enough.

Being an older patient, I was concerned about my condition but found Dr Poad to be extremely kind and helpful. She operated on me, a very long and complicated turn out, and was nothing but concerned about me. Her staff are wonderful. I would recommend her to anyone and I thank her for her kindness and efficient treatment of my condition.

If I had known how abrupt and rude she would have been, I would have delivered my baby myself at home. Poor service and just not a good Dr to be around, wont be going back even if it`s for free.

In all fairness there were not a lot of options to treat my condition but once I declined the obvious solution (contraception at aged 53) as not a path I wanted to consider I then found her manner abrupt and demeaning. Why when others don't have an issue with an IUD should I? Because there wasn't any "simple" solution I was willing to take it was a consultation of this or that and if these don't work you don't really need to come back unless you want to consider surgical options. Agree with the other comments about her being quite abrupt but I didn't have a problem with her delivery of information - just not a willingness to look outside the easy options that didn't have any guaranteed results.

Told by my friend who is a doctor that she is very good ( his wife also went with Dr poad). She is very knowledgeable and I trust her judgement 100%. She is honest. She will tell you the truth bluntly which is a good thing I guess. But if you are someone who needs bad news sugar coated she is not the doctor for you. Had a slightly complicated pregnancy and in the end I was extremely glad I went with her. But I have no other experience with other obyg to compare with
