Dr. Lam has knowledge, will give her that. However, she is very rude, very curt, lacks empathy and 'bedside manners'. She belittles patients and doesn't understand why they are asking questions to advocate for their health. Every appointment feels rushed even when there are not other people waiting in the lobby.
Pros: She will refer for bloodwork and follow-ups if something seems off. She has been on time.
Cons: She will belittle and criticize. Patients need to be "chop chop chop" (quick) when talking to her, this is hard for elderly people who may not speak as fast or process things as quickly.

The only reason I am staying with her is because I cannot get another doctor to take me when I am already under the care of Dr. Lam. Frustrating!! Thankfully I know a lot of medical/doctor friends who are much more caring and considerate, so at least I have other informal avenues to ask questions when my own GP doesn't care enough to address them in a non-condescending manner.

Poor points: Insults patient in Cantonese, doesn't listen to point of view, not much empathy towards patient's worry points, not much patience. Good points: allows patient to ask more than one question (some other doctors only allow one question). Seems like the medical and family doctor system in Vancouver is broken and turning out more and more stressed doctors, who respond in kind towards their patients. Unfortunately not much you can do in this system.

This is the worst doctor with no compassion I have seen in my life. Due to emergencies, I went to see a different walk in doctor. When I returned back to her, she accused me of having another doctor under her care. She further said that I signed a contract as her patient that I cannot go to other doctor. She told me that I should leave right the way so that she can use my space to take care of other patients. I have made an appointment to talk to her regarding my health and needing some medication. I have waited for 2 weeks for such a telephone appointment. She did not say a single word of care with me except to try to get rid of me. I just burst out crying right the way! I am a senior needing care and why should she need to treat me like this. I basically asked her if I can continue under her care. She continues to say that I should not look for other doctor under her care. And she said she will give me only one last chance and will email me a requisition for blood test! And she hangs up! I am extremely upset and have consulted experts in healthcare, they all suggested me to write up and let everyone know my experience! Sorry, Dr. Lam I am not coming back! Your policy only allowing 2 questions per visit does not impress me and I totally cannot tolerate your way of treating your patients!

She is super rude and arrogant; shows no empathy towards patient. Rushes every appointment whether in person or by phone (always less than 5mins). She needs to head back to retrain as a doctor for her professional mannerisms.

She works for Babylon and had a video visit for me for two minutes (could of made it atleast 5 mins honey! )and hung up on me. Clearly lacking in the empathy department and just rushes the appointment barely asking for any of your history. Avoid this doctor if you use the Babylon app. She could care less about you!

Rude. Arrogant. Ignorant. Rush through things. No follow ups. Neglect your problems. Does not listen. Wrong diagnosis. Never a consultation that would last more than 2 minutes.

Mostly a good experience with this doctor, but busy office as mentioned before. Staff are often confused and unprofessional. Thank goodness for their online booking system because speaking to them is so frustrating. Dr. Lam will listen to your issues, send you for appropriate follow up tests, and will provide direct advice or explanations. If she is busy, she will 100% rush you out the door and be very curt. Some days when you can tell she has more time, she is kinder, more patient and all around more engaging. Don't take it personally, just read the room and you'll still get solid medical support from this physician. I did have to source my own referrals though.

My family doctor retired and found out this clinic accepted new patient. This clinic is very busy. Sometimes we need to wait usually not more than 30 minutes. So I arrange more time for the appointment just in case I need wait. The front desk people are nice, patient and kind. Overall, the clinic is good for me.
