He has been an excellent Doctor. He communicates well, has a wonderful manner, and gives good information and explanations. I have done both In-Person AND Telephone Office visits with Dr. Avanessian.

Am a bit puzzled by the negative review for sure. I had a CLL suspicion and breast cancer diagnosis. In both cases Dr. Avanessian gave thorough information in a calm but direct manner. I was totally reassured. I was not rushed and took all the time I needed. Incredibly caring. Lucky to have him in my corner.

It took 3 weeks to receive a lab requisition in the mail only to have no checks as to what kind of lab work needed to be done. Phone messages not responded to and replacement requisition not received. After initial consult, referral to BC Cancer Radiation Oncology was not sent in. Dr. Avanessian's comment to these oversights was, "It's no big deal". As follow up with receptionist, she said she's not the only one who answers phone, she doesn't do referrals to BC Cancer Agency and who can remember what happened months ago.

One could not wish to be treated by a more skilled, respectful and compassionate team. Thank you most sincerely Dr Ardashes Avanessian and the staff at the Lions Gate Chemotherapy Centre. Naturally a busy oncologist and worth waiting for.
