Absolute best. Period. Nobody wants a root canal, but if you need one see Dr. Godfrey.

I was nervous, and he took the time to explain what he was doing and why. The bonus is that he does some of the most exceptional dental work in town and does it quickly (less time in the chair!).
His team is exceptional. I’d give this office 10 stars out of five if I could.

Awesome. Matt is hands down one of the best dental specialists around. Caring, smart, patient, and thorough in explaining a root canal.
Always checking in to see how I was doing, and informing of things I might hear, feel or see. Incredibly gifted in his craft, and highly recommended for anyone that is skittish about going for a dental procedure.

I would like to make you aware of my situation, to help you and your patients down the road. On October 24 of 2023, Dr Godfrey was 80% sure that my Lower Left Canine was completely broken and would have to be pulled. Dr Godfrey also mentioned, even though it was a “Hail Mary” procedure, I needed to get the root canal done ASAP and was wanting to get me in within 2 weeks. When I went to book the appointment, you only had space at 5 weeks out. I went to my car and prayed and thought about it. I decided to go back in and ask if you were sure that you had no appointments earlier, because maybe Dr Godfrey had not communicated to his administration my dental history? I was very soft, defeated, feeling low, and polite, and after hearing “no” again, a receptionist replied, “It probably won’t work anyways”. I went to my car and wept.

Thus (Upon a second referral from Dimension Dentistry) I went to see Dr Kolosowski at South Calgary Endodontics. Dr Kolosowski cited 5 possible reasons for the abscess and possible solutions. They got me in within a week, and my Root Canal went great. The tooth is not broken or even cracked. I am elated, happy and relieved.

Background: I was born with Hypodontia, and I am missing 24 adult teeth. I only have 4 adult teeth on the top, connected by one bridge that is 37 years old. On the bottom, where the abscess was, I only have 2 adult canines plus 5 baby teeth in the front. Last Spring, after a 47-year-old bridge was removed from my baby teeth, and the canines filed down to posts, I received a new bridge that connects all 7 lower teeth. It would really mess up my already osteoarthritic bones, jaw, face, and health down the road, if I were to lose that lower left canine.

I have PTSD from dentists that treated me in the 60s, 70s and 80s, and NO ONE takes better care of their teeth than me. Implants are not an option, so I know the 6 adult teeth that I do have are vital to my health.

In conclusion, your staff should be more informed and compassionate, and not say things like “It probably won’t work anyways”.

Dr. Godfrey did an exceptional job of my root canal of which there was a 4th canal. He is very thorough and compassionate. I would definitely recommend him. I didn’t have to take any pain meds the day of and not even the days after.
