Dr. Hassan ignored me when I came forward and disclosed to him the child abuse that I had suffered and was suffering. I was 10 years old at the time. I was a crown ward of the government of Ontario. The abuse that I disclosed to him continued for another eight years after I confided in him. His negligence put me and dozens of children in danger and harm. That was 30 years ago. When I confronted him again three years ago he continued to minimize and not validate my abuse. Saying that, “I was just a child” and “that it was 30 years ago.” All survivors should be believed, but to put into perspective how well the abuse was documented I was eventually rescued by the FBI. That was the only thing that stopped the abuse. He also made the unethical choice to treat one of my biological parents after he had treated me for two years. 30 years later he still treats this person. The biological relative that he decided to treat was one of my abusers. For 30 years this made me think that I was responsible for the abuse that I suffered. I wish I could take legal action against Dr. Hassan. Unfortunately that is unlikely. Please do not bring vulnerable children to see this doctor. He should not be working with vulnerable clients.

Dr. Hassan is a unethical and bigoted doctor who abuses power and authority. He put my life in danger when I was a minor. I am still recovering from the damage that his care caused. I would not recommend him. He does not use practices and his care is not patient centred. There are a lot of great doctors out there. If you are looking for true healing and recovery I would look somewhere else.

Dr. Hassan is one of the BEST Psychiatrists in Toronto. He has helped a large number of our clients for the past twenty years. God bless him.
