Very happy with Dr Salama but his secretary Roz is rude, inflexible and doesn’t give a dam!

Yasser is a lovely doctor with beautiful bedside manner but this practice is so money hungry. Recently opted out of private health insurance, due to excess fees ejecting to have my procedures in the public, but now made to feel like a second class citizen.

The receptionist is just awful. I made a telephone enquiry after I underwent some procedures with Dr Salama as it was requested by the hospital. I had barely introduced myself and wanted to ask for my results but she started to barrage me with condescending comments like "I have patients in front of me, what is it you want??" and "you did your procedures at a public hospital so I don't know what the results are". I mean, really?? I was Dr Salama's patient myself and I think I have just as much right to be treated the same way as the other patients at the clinic. After accusing me of not following it up with the hospital, she 'discovered' that there were reports sent through by the hospital and she made it sound like she was doing a favour to me, "I'll send it to your GP OK?? OK??" What in the world is wrong with this woman?? She has no respect for 'previous' patients, no professionalism to discern public and private patients shouldn't be treated differently and absolutely no manners. Such a shame the doctor is lovely.

As a patient, you have little choice but to trust the knowledge of your referring doctor. Hoefully you don't compare & contrast many operations yourself! I am grateful I was referred to Yasser - open and considerate, expert at a delicate operation, resulting in a speedier-than-expected recovery for me, no complications. With a sister a nurse, I've always thought you could tell something about a doctor by the regard the staff have for him. Only one small problem - he supports the All Blacks over the Wallabies.

Dr Salama is amazing! Such a lovely, honest man who is gentle, does everything to put your mind at rest and very approachable. He is also a very skilled surgeon. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Salama to anyone.

I can't express how lucky i was to have Dr Salama as my consultant and surgeon. As a nervous patient he took me through everything with great care and professionalism. It is hard to imagine a better more caring Physician.
