Dr Sandford examined me for GERD. His analytical approach and uncomplicated conclusions appeared thorough and comprehensive.

I saw Dr Sandford a few times to manage my reflux problem, and found him to be very abrupt and uncaring. I would have to say that his harsh and sour style is completely unsuited to being a doctor of any kind. Knowledgeable and competent doctors are important but I don't believe people skills and caring manner are unimportant. Being caring, listening and having people skills should go hand in hand with knowledge and technical skill. There is no reason not to have both, other than you simply don't care. Dr Sandford talked at me, always looked sour and delivered a monologue which was more like a lecture, and could barely look me in the eye. His rooms are like something from another era and so is he. I returned to Dr Sandford many years later for further symptoms, mainly for convenience, however he was just as bad, possibly worse as he has got older. One appointment that time and I would never go back. People who are ill respond better and heal better in a positive environment. if you have to worry about how your doctor treats you and speaks to you then this only adds to your stress and inhibits healing. I would not recommend Dr Sandford - he lacks people skills, can be rude and abrupt, doesn't listen or have enough regard for your views or feelings, and is not particularly brilliant in the first place. I can understand other negative comments here - if you feeling especially vulnerable when you saw him and had a particularly serious or difficult condition he would be the cause of considerable distress.

Dr Neville Sandford is the rudest, most horrible doctor you can imagine. I REFUSE to go back and pay for someone to be so rude to me. I have asked them to send the results to my GP who I will also be telling NEVER to refer anyone there ever again. After leaving his surgery I cried. It was a very upsetting experience.

Dr Neville Sandford - I do NOT recommend him. I feel as though I wasted my time, money and energy seeing that man and if I could turn back time I would 100% go to see a different Gastroenterologist. Extremely rude, unsympathetic, arrogant - just a few words to describe. He didn't seem to care at all that I was suffering. He performed a Colonoscopy and Endoscopy and when those came back clear he said I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome and to go and see a Dietitian. He did not care, he was extremely insensitive and made me feel uncomfortable. After the procedures, when I went to see him for my results I was still charged his $80 fee (on top of everything else I had paid up until that day) and I was in there with him for 9 MINUTES!!! That is when he told me that I just need to "live with it" and there is nothing else he can do for me. Disappointing is an understatement. I am really quite mad! Do not see him, unless you end up having bowel cancer or something serious, I doubt he will care!
