I went to Dr. Paine's office after reading all of the 5 star reviews and I was very disappointed because I certainly didn't get the same experience . He admitted that he was on call the night before and he looked very tired and his office was very busy but he was rude and short tempered with me. My husband was with me during this initial visit and he was astonished by how unprofessional he was being . He kept asking why we were there-- even though he had been provided with the 17 page new patient paperwork that I was required to fill out before my visit with him that he obviously didn't read as well as six CDs of CAT scans and MRIs that he barely looked at . And as I try to explain to him the purpose of my visit as I had already been evaluated by another doctor down south but due to insurance changes the insurance company was requiring me to be reevaluated he became angry and left the room stating that "this is not going to work"--- I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to get up and leave but my husband told me to sit tight for a minute and sure enough he finally came back into the room and my husband proceeded to try and explain to him why we were there but by that time the patient/doctor relationship and trust was gone . so as great as the reviews were there's no way I would let somebody perform surgery on me that showed me that kind of behavior . But that's just my opinion based on my experience--- and whether he was just having a bad day from being on call the night before or if he was just being cranky from lack of sleep it certainly impacted my view of him.

This is the second surgery Dr. Paine has done for me. The first being a fusion in the cervical area of spine about eight years now and absolutely no problems. I just had my lower back done with a spacer put in for severe spinal stenosis. The pain that was running down my leg from my lower back is completely gone now. Dr. Paine really knows what he's doing. Dr. Paine takes the time to answer any of my or my wife's questions he is very friendly and personable. We highly recommend him. Love his office staff too !

The last year was unbearable. I searched for anyone who could find the source of my pain and fix it. The SI joint is so often overlooked by doctors. I finally met this man who saved my life. Appointment #1 he listened to my story and knew immediately what's wrong. He sent me to have diagnostic block to make sure. Appointment #2 we discussed the results and scheduled surgery. Appointment #3 was surgery. I woke up from surgery and immediately knew the pain was gone. I could have gone home that day but decided to stay overnight to make sure my pain was managed. Amazing! The hospital staff was amazing. I'm sure he hand-picked the nurses that took care of me because I've never had such a wonderful experience there before. He visited me a few times in the hospital. We celebrated together and joked around for a while. He was as happy for me as I was. Truly.

I would reccomend Dr. Paine to anyone. He has helped me to improve my quality of life enormously. I had lumbar surgery by him in the 90's and just recently cervical fusion with a titanium fixture. He's the best.

Dr. Jonathan Paine and Dr. Scott Gold saved my life diagnosing and removing a brain tumor during the mid 90's on the outer part of the cerebellum. I fully recovered within a year. He is very professional and caring.

MOST PEOPLE HATE DOCTORS. I AM ABLE TO TYPE THIS THANKS TO DOC PAINE. I HAVE HAD HIM CUT ON MY SPINE THREE TIMES. ONE SAVED MY ARM AND MY HAND. TWICE FOR MY BACK. EVERYTHING WORKED. I HAVE SPINAL DEGREGATION DISEASE AND IT IS A BIT ADVANCE FOR SOMEONE AT 45 YEARS OLD. IF I HAVE TO HAVE ANOTHER DOCOTOR CUT ON ME I HOPE HE HAS A MILLION DOLLAR SET OF HAND LIKE PAINE. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE HE MAKES MANY MISTAKE BECAUSE I WAS THINKING THE WORST WITH A FUSION AND TWICE HAVE NOT NEEDED IT! SO OF THREE I AHVE ONE FUSION AND TWO SIMPLE IN AND OUT OF THE HOSPITAL THAT DAY SURGERIES. ONE OF THE BEST SURGEONS I HAVE MET AND I KNOW A FEW.

Dr. Payne saved my 28 year old sons life. I will always admire his dedication, knowledge, and professionalism. In times of suffering, and grief we hope someone will pull us, and our loved ones out and make it better. Not always can a doctor succeed, all are just human, not saints. I do believe, Dr. Payne to be one of the best! I am blessed each day because he saved my son's life! No one else in my life gave me the feeling that he gave my family that fateful night. My son is a miracle!

DR.paine did kyphoplasty on my spine in May. Was in pain for 4 months. Found out why because he did T11 instead of T12. T11 was not fractured. Went to another surgeon to do the right one. Still in pain.
