THR. I felt like a number. Punctual, professional, but detached. I didn't feel like I mattered.

This is one very special man! First TKR was brilliant as was the recovery. I appreciate he doesn't need the kudos but I have recommended him to everyone I know. AND he is a really nice man. Second one coming soon. It has had some challenges (COVID related) and when I called to report in he genuinely showed a caring man. His family are lucky to have him as are we .

I had a right total hip surgery in Nov 2019 and a revision left hip surgery in Sept 2020 where Dr. Pugh removed an old Birmingham Hip Resurfacing device and replaced it with a new total hip.
In both cases the speed of my recovery was amazing and the results were even better than I had hoped for. He is a fantastic surgeon, extremely dedicated, caring and a very nice guy.

2 Years ago, I could not walk trails or prepare dinners or grocery shop without tremendous knee pain. Dr. Pugh replaced both knees within 16 months. Today, I swim, walk beaches and stand while cooking without pain. I can keep up with my husband when walking Tofino's hiking trails, not bad for a 73 year old diabetic. Thank You, Dr. Pugh, your 'amazing'
surgical efforts put quality back into my life!

I am a female early 60's, and after close to 40 years of athletics and a severely torn acl from 1979, my right knee had severe bone chips, ostephytes, osteoarthritis, a bent leg..which rendered me unable to walk 5 feet unassisted. Early September 2020 on a semi urgent list, Dr Pugh completely restored my knee and leg, and I stood pain free some 4 hours after surgery and walked out RJH less than 24 hours later. Due to the new nerve blocking, I was virtually pain free...used minimal opiod pain killers and take only the odd Tyllenol. Dr Pugh is highly skilled, caring kind....and my kner andvleg are well on the recovery road. Royal Jubilee Hospital and staff are highly professional and caring.....great experience and phenomenal outcome.

Dr. Pugh came highly recommended and my Mom requested him by name. In mid-August she underwent hip replacement surgery and we were all so happy and relieved that the surgery seemed to go well. Little did we know that her medical history was not sufficiently taken into account and the anti-coagulants prescribed were not enough. 18 days after her surgery my Mom was taken from us so suddenly by a pulmonary embolism that resulted from the surgery. This tremendous loss could have been prevented and our hearts would not be shattered.

I am 75 and have been active all my life. Within a year my mobility went from hiking to wheeled walker due to AVN of the right hip. Dr. Pugh gave me a THR about 6 months ago. My quality of life progressed from 0/5 to 5/5. I estimated I am 98% of my former self. Thank you Dr. Pugh.

I have fully recovered from my fourth joint (both hips and both knees). All successes, I owe Dr. Pugh my life. What a compassionate and special man, I only wish he did shoulder surgery too!

I was lucky enough to have Dr Pugh, when I nearly tore my foot of by stepping on the moving shaft on our boat, silly me!
As I am an older person with thin skin, and thinning bones, to fix my foot was a challenge. To me Dr Pugh is a miracle worker and true artist! Another bonus of having him, at least for me, was, he expected you, in the nicest possible way, to just get on with it, even if I was nervous, to go on to the next step, so to speak.
It mostly due to him that at 8 months, my ankle is pretty much back to normal, something I was not sure would ever happen.
I know there are many terrific and accomplished Surgeons, but Dr Pugh is my hero.
