Horribly disrespectful man. Yelled at me for not remembering his name, despite him only giving me his name after he gave me a high dose of Ketamine, a dissociative drug, for the pain of my severely frostbitten feet.
Disregards anything said, and overall just a huge disgrace to medicine.
I never realised that doctors had the option of declaring a hypocritical oath, instead of the Hippocratic oath, but it's clear that Sid Viner made the wrong choice.

Dr. Sid Viner is the Calgary Zone Medical Director for Alberta Health Services. This is why he treats people around him like garbage, like everyone is beneath him. And this why we have in Calgary worse medical care than third world.

I've never had a more displeasurable experience at a hospital than with this doctor. He continually demeaned and insulted me, while refusing to give me anything for the pain of frostbite on both of my feet. He should have his medical license revoked, and his smug smile slapped off his face.

Dr. Viner is the kindest, most dedicated doctor I have met. When my husband was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, he took my call right away and scheduled tests for him. This led to a life saving operation in Ottawa. Two years later when my husband had a traumatic brain injury and had a massive brain bleed, he came to the hospital to see how my husband was doing in emergency and ICU. He kept in contact with us as my husband progressed. I will forever remember his kindness. He was a ray of hope in the darkness.

I hadn't realized we could do this. In 1994, Dr. Viner treated our 25 year old son in Calgary's General Hospital ICU. On Jan 10, with a prognosis of less than 1 % survival rate, miraculously Lee's condition flipped 180 degrees. Dr. Viner had hardly left Lee's side for the 10 days and he admitted we had Divine help. Only a very good Doctor would recognize and admit such an occurrence. Lee is still with us and we are grateful for all the medical staff involved, especially Dr. Viner.
