Dr. Kenneth Chow has been teaching Oral Surgery at UBC Dental School for more than 17 years and has received 3 teaching awards from his students. He has also taught several Continuing Education courses at UBC titled "Oral Surgery for General Practitioners." Dr. Chow also continues to teach Oral Surgery to General Practice Residents at Vancouver General Hospital. He is the Director of IV sedation at VGH teaching General Practice Residents. He has also been involved in teaching in the Implant module to dental students. Many students have gone onto providing Oral Surgical Procedures in their practices and some have gone onto Specialize in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and other Specialities. Dr. Chow continues to be passionate about teaching to all those interested in Oral Surgery.

I found out that he amongst a few other oral surgeons do not support the establishment of an oral surgery residency program at UBC. I view this as self serving and definitely not in the interest of the public. He also repeated lobby to ban general dentists from removing wisdom teeth. If the interest is for the public at heart then a residency program in oral surgery at UBC will allow more access to care for the public. If a general dentist feels that certain wisdom teeth can be removed at their office with excellent outcome why should an oral surgeon be involved and charge the patient a much higher fees? All these actions are really just self serving. If indulging in fine wine and driving a Ferrari is not already enough I don't know what is? I really don't think any general dentist should refer to him.

very good dentist./however he charges $2500.for a dental implant screw when other dentists are all around $1800.whats the deal there?
