Wonderful doctor and great diagnostician. He has helped my children 35 years ago and me on multiple occasions. He has made diagnoses that others have missed. Mild surgical procedures painless and with excellent results. I am a Physician, and know a great doctor when I go to see one. I seldom comment on other doctors except he is exceptional.

My heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gary Friend for his unwavering dedication, along with his talent, kind smiles and compassion. He brought hope to my life at a time when I was told that I would have to live with pain and that strong pain meds are my only answer in getting any type of relief. To be told that quality and not quantity of life is my only hope is a frightening prospect in being a patient and feeling tremendously helpless. Desperate to find a better answer, I decided to see a Podiatrist. That is what brought me to Dr. Friend. His commitment to find an answer, a better approach to not only alleviate my pain, but to stop my pain completely. How can you thank someone appropriately for giving you back your life? I am now able to live a more productive life thanks to trusting this very special doctor.

I recently had hammer toe correction surgery. Given I am a cross country runner it was very anxious with recovery after the surgery. Dr. friend was extremely patient in answering all my quesrions and making sure I was comfortable. Also he opened up his schedule to make sure I would get my surgery done and be healed before cross country season started. Highly recommend him to anyone. He is smart and truely cares for each patients indivial needs.

Charged $146 for initial office visit and $191 for a "nail avulsion" (removal of a dead toenail hanging on by a thread). The procedure took one second without any equipment or antesthesia or anything. My insurance covered part, but left me with $122. 70 to pay. Had I been told that it would cost that much, I would not have consented to the procedure. The insurance company called it podiatric surgery. For any type of surgery or expensive procedures, I appreciate being informed what the charges will be. I did not ask, as I assumed I would only be charged for an office call, and had no idea until I got the insurance statement and the bill!

I was recommended to Dr. Friend to fix my achilles issue that had worsened. I had a great experience with him from surgery, consults and post op. He lsitened to my knowledge of my own body, and leveraged it to create a plan of attack that was spot on. I would recommend him to anyone looking for any level of treatment.

He seems to be a friendly Dr. but he seems in a rush. Recommended to help my problem by buying his insert at $50 (there are similar ones specifically for my condition and cheaper at WM), he said if this doesn't help we'll make you a fitting one. The insert is usseless and even is bothering me just where the problem is becuase is not full size, it covers only 2/3 lennght under my foot. I almost could have refused to buy the insert, just by seeing it looks very ordinary, but I wanted to trust Dr. I talked to my uncle on the phone (traumatologist) and he suggested that I needed one made to fit. I am just annoyed I spent the money for nothing... Maybe this insert could help some people but definitely not for ball of foot.

The office I attended was not very punctual, I arrived early but was not taken in until 15 past my scheduled appointment time. Yet when Dr. Friend did see me he was very friendly as well as helpfull as to possible treatment options and things we could do now to help my problem. I would reccomend this doctor to others but don't get there early and expect to be tken right away. Bring a good magazine because this doctor is definetly worth it.
