I disagree with the reviews of no bedside mannar. He has helped alot of people I know including myself. Yes he doesn't always look at you as he types away during consult but he gives you the time to ask questions and answers them. He's honnest in saying he can't always find a remedy straight away but if we are willing to stay around long enough he certainly will give you a run for your money. Not many drs I know are willing to take on low blood pressure. Yes he has his theory but he certainly has helped me. Saying this you need to work with him and want to help yourself first before he can help you.

Agree with another review here. Unless you are willing to try a few medications it is a waste of time:. Bedside manner non existant. He doesnt even look at you during the consultation. If medication doesnt work no other alternative offered. Felt like his main driver was collecting data for a trial on the medications he pushes. When i asked about other treatment he wasnt interested or engaged. Some of medications caused serious side effects and he was remotely bothered.

Very caring and knowledgeable doctor, particularly for OI, POTS, and EDS. Can access Midodrine which I found a really useful drug for OI. Appreciate his caring approach and good bedside manner.

He wants to fit you into a box that fits with his own theories and will ignore other aspects of your case and give partial or incorrect information to you in the process. On top of this glaring flaw, he can also be dreadfully rude and his beside manner is seriously lacking. He misdiagnosed me (with OI, which having spoken to other ex patients and some specialists in the field; I learned is his favorite diagnosis,) and he put me on florinef which took my normal bp into dangerously high territory, and made no effort to remedy this.

Bulk bIlls so no charge to see him publicly. Or see him privately with less wait. Very knowledgeable and explains things to you very clearly in lay terms. He is supportive and very thorough, takig a full and detailed history and family history of symptoms. (He often runs late as he is so thorough.) First consult is very detailed and comprehensive. Measures postural drop correctly as so few doctors do and tests blood pressure throroughly on subsequent visits. Doing active research. Especially good for OI/POTS and EDS (Orthostatic intolerance, Postural orthostatic tachycarcic syndrome and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome - and there are comparatively few doctors who are informed in these areas at the moment. I would highly recommend this doctor; I have seen him over a year now. Clinic staff are wonderful too. He responds to emails from new patients so email him (or phone the clinic 9496 5029)to see if he is suitable for you before getting your GP to fax a referral to him is best.

Dr O'Callaghan was the first doctor I met who knew anything about blood pressure disorders. He didn't promise he could fix me, but he told me what I could expect, what to do for myself, and what the potential treatments were.
