Had issues postpartum with breastfeeding my newborn. Dr. Barry dismissed my feelings and my postpartum challenges saying my baby can't suck and will need to see a therapist. Didn't make sense because my baby sucked really well on a bottle but had issues nursing. Lacking compassion and empathy. Waste of time seeing this dr. Ended up seeing another amazing dr at Riley park and baby latched no problem after getting tongue tie snipped

Would not recommend Dr. Barry. Very abrupt and not empathetic towards the struggles of postpartum. Didn't take the time to help my baby latch. Claimed my son needed to see a craniotherapist since he "needs help sucking."
We ended up seeing another LC doctor at Riley park that was 100x better than Dr. Barry and was able to get my son latching properly. Was a waste of time seeing Dr.Barry

I had a horrible experience with this doctor. I left feeling terrible about myself as a parent and felt that I was talked down to. Awful bedside manner.

Summary: I recommend.

I've seen Dr. Barry at Riley Park Maternity Clinic for help with lactation. She helped my nipple, which was slowly being ripped off, heal. She helped me learn to breastfeed without intense pain. She was always kind and willing to answer all the questions I had, even if they weren't directory related to lactation. I'm so happy I got to see her early on as I'm not sure I'd still be breastfeeding now at 4 months other wise. Although breastfeeding is natural, it's not easy for all of us.

I recently reached out to her office to book an appointment regarding very bad symptoms my baby was having when I ate certain foods. They weren't able to book me with her before she left on vacation and booked me with another doctor, but Dr. Barry personally called me that day and made recommendations to follow before my appointment. She was right on point thinking it must be a dairy protein allergy and before my appointment the symptoms in my baby decreased greatly. Back to breastfeeding easy as a breeze!

I rated her lower in punctuality but that's a result of Riley Park clinic often being behind in general, not her.

One last note: I read someone is upset she doesn't issue birth control due to religious beliefs. I'm definitely not the same religion as her and I have to say I don't really care. The answer is simple: go to one of the many other doctors available!

Thank you Dr. Barry!

Excellent Doctor who actually cares about her patients' overall health and takes the time to listen to concerns and come up with appropriate treatment and follow-up.

Not good. A very discriminatory physician who will refuse services to you based on religious dogma.

To refuse to prescribe birth control due to her personal experiences is unconscionable

Wonderful doctor. She doesn't prescribe birth control pills, so what? There are plenty of other walk-in doctors who will. She treats common illnesses and does so with compassion. A doctor has every right to practice within his/her area of interest.
