I went to the emergency room for a seizure. She kept me in the hospital for a week and ran ten's of thousands of dollars worth of tests with absolutely no conclusion at all. Her review with me lasted maybe five minutes at best and I would have to wait three months for a follow-up. I found another neurologist in Plano. Dismissed her as just keeping staff and hospitals employed with my insurance money. I had no choice because she was assigned to me, but if I could choose, I would stay WELL AWAY from this woman. Terrible.

She failed to diagnose my neurological problem, instead she just kept prescribing different medications. Problem was a conflict between medicines, which was finally diagnosed by one of my relatives. She does not provide her assistant training or provide a substitute doctor in her absence, which resulted in me going into the hospital due her staff declining to provide me the medication that I desperately needed and tried to obtain through her office. She thrives on numerous appointments and medical tests to fund her practice. Phones are never answered, but she thrives on being booked up for office visits.

Totally unworkable and incompetent scheduling and staffing. And they showed absolutely NO compassion or regret that I had to wait two months for an appointment. After showing up early for my appointment I was told the Dr wasn't in. They "tried" to call me and reschedule, and when I called the day before my appointment to confirm, I got no return call and they said they had multiple patients with my name. So clearly all their patients with my same name must have had appointments at the same time on the same day.. which clearly justifies in their mind that they've done all they can. But if I had "no showed" for my appointment, I would have been charged $100.00. Now, if I want another appointment, guess what... I have to wait another two months. A couple of suggestions: Hire a couple more doctors in the practice and quit using the excuse that one of the doctors retired. How long are you gonna use that excuse? Secondly, hire another receptionist to help out Robin. Thirdly, have a phone that is actually answered by a human being, or wait.. maybe they retired too. And fourthly, send the entire staff to a seminar on customer service and sensitivity... oh wait.. that would put you all out of the office for another day. Hope you can get those appointment successfully cancelled.

On June 8, 2013 I had a stroke and was admitted into an emergency room in Plano. Br. Barta was thankfully on call. Within minutes she was with me, correctly figured out was going on and set me up with a TPA procedure that saved my life. Within hours I was talking, shortly after I was walking and following two cartoid operations in July and August I am near normal today. Dr. Barta you are my angel. My wife has back pain issues that will likely require surgery and was working with Dr. Barta. The Dr. was nice, but I do not feel that she actually managed a treatment plan. She just prescribed meds and told my wife to go to PT. No discussion of what to expect, what next steps would be taken if the PT/meds didn't work, how long before these treatments should be considered ineffective, etc. It seems to me that back pain issues--which can be complex--should be managed through a treatment plan with more care. The larger issue is the doctor's staff (6124 Parker Rd, Suite 336). They were so rude that my wife is now finding another doctor. The Office Manager, Laurie M. Cyprus, was horrible. If I were a medical professional, I would never want her representing me to patients. Barta's treatment was enough to give my wife second thoughts about using her, but her staff's lack of professionalism was the deciding factor. It is not worth dealing with rude staff, especially when you are in pain.
