Disappointed. Surgery failed. No follow-up. Found another Dr who is professional. This individual is a joke. Wonder why St Vincent’s persists.

Dr Steel is simply the BEST! Dr Steel looked after my mother while she was in St Vincent’s for 9 months back in 2013. He is extremely kind, compassionate & knowledgeable. He goes above and beyond & is one of the hardest working surgeons I’ve ever come across. I knew she was in the best hands possible. I would recommend Dr Steel to anyone. I also would totally trust him with my life. He definitely is the best!

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr Steel. I had surgery a week before Christmas 2019. Dr Steel was available 24/7 to discuss anything at any time (including on Christmas Day). Nothing was too much trouble. He was empathetic and informative and I felt completely satisfied with every aspect of his care. I have recommended him to a number of people including family members. This is something I would not do unless I had complete confidence in him, his ability and his professionalism.

Dr Steel is kindest, most understanding doctor, but his greatest attribute is that he listerns, and truely cares, he is not filled with ego, his humility and empathy and compassion are truely his gifts , he has operated on me four times, he is not god, but comes pretty close. Dr Steel explains everything in depth, and walks his talk. I trust him with my life, and I have, Thank you for all you did for me when no one else could. Thank you again you are truely a wonderful person.

Dr Steel is an excellent, skilled, knowledgeable and professional surgeon. He is a compassionate doctor who listens to his patient, investigates thoroughly and proceeds with caution. When I was 19, I was told by an orthopaedic surgeon that I would be paralysed by the time I was 40. Another neurosurgeon declined to operate until I was 50! I am 57, mobile and a keen gardener thanks to Dr Steel and several life changing surgeries; most recently a C1/C2 fusion for a very rare condition. I am forever grateful to him.

My experience was very bad too. He was running very late, charged me $525 to be told to get another MRI scan. It took 2 weeks to give my results back when he said he'll call me back in 1-2 days . He actually didn't call me, his assistant did and she didn't seem know much. His reception staff rude and inexperienced. All my time and money wasted on a surgeon that only cares about $$$$. Disgraceful!!

I'm much worse off after surgery. I did a nerve decompression but 10 days after surgery the MRI showed it was still compressed. I'm in much more pain after surgery.

The surgery was really expensive and it was supposed to free up the nerve but after surgery I still have nerve compression on nerve, I'm in alot of pain.

I had a foraminotomy done last month for a right C6 nerve compression. I was in excruciating pain afterwards and took another MRI which showed the same C6 nerve is compressed.

No help from them other than to remove my google review, I wonder how many other honest reviews were removed.

I was referred interstate to see Prof Steel due to his skill and experience in spinal surgery. He was extremely friendly and candid in his excellent education on my issue and the treatment plan he recommended. He promptly wrote to my other specialist health care team members clearly articulating the issues, required input and plan. One of the nicest, professional and proficient Doctors I have dealt with!

Having three major spinal surgeries and my husband having had one spinal surgery by Prof Timothy Steel. We can say with the utmost sincerity he is the most professional, extraordinary surgeon we have ever met. Prof Timothy Steel has been patient and works incredibly hard for each and every patient to help them gain some quality of life that I personally can say he has done for me.
