It’s taken me a few years to recover from my experience with this horrible doctor. There is a reason she is the only doctor in her practice, no one probably wants to be associated with her. If you get prenatal care with her or Tracy, you are stuck with the Dr for labor and birth. She completely disregarded my birth plan, doesn’t talk to you about options (it’s her way or the highway), and barely spent any time with me in labor. She talks so much about herself that she won’t even bother to ask you how you’re doing. If you care about your body and a Dr that respects it, go somewhere else. If you want no say in your care and to be mutilated by this woman, she is your girl.

Doctor August is an amazing OB/GYN. I have been seeing her since I was 15 years old and am now 50. She delivered all three of my daughters. She is very caring and friendly. I would never have seen anyone else while going through my childbirth years.

Do not use this doctor if you are looking for the best care for you and your unborn child. This woman has no bedside manner and rushes out of appointments as quickly as possible. She gives very little explanation and uses sarcasm as an excuse to be curt and insensitive. Also be aware if you are anything but a white skinny female, she makes comments that are borderline discriminative and focuses more on your weight and race than actually giving medical information about your unborn child or test results. I wish I had checked reviews instead of trusting a referral from one of her colleagues. At the end of the day this is a business and there’s little to no customer service with this doctor.

I had gone to Dr. August after dealing with recurrent yeast infections that turned into an uncomfortable issue with the skin around my vaginal area. During the initial visit, she was very straight forward which was great, and helpful after all that I had been through. She had given me a blood test for herpes HSV 1 and 2 and said if that came back negative then my condition was due to lichen sclerosus. She gave me a pamphlet to read up on it and instructed me to apply a potent steroid ointment. When reading the pamphlet, I found out that LS causes severe skin deformities in its patients making it difficult to engage in intercourse and/or urinate, can lead to cancer, is linked to an autoimmune disease and occurs most frequently in post menopausal women (I was 27); all of this she did not discuss with me, nor did in my follow-up visit and left me on my own to educate myself on this disease.
During my follow-up visit when I was still dealing with the same symptoms, she told me I could either go on an oral medication that would block neuro-pain receptors leaving me with bad side effects, or use the steroid ointment more frequently. When I asked questions about related issues, and the potential side effects of this ointment, she looked at me plainly and said, "you have a life-long disease that you're going to have to just deal with." That same day, I booked an appointment with a gyno at MGH. Needless to say, I did not have lichen sclerosus, which they tested me for by the ONLY way that you can diagnose the disease- a biopsy. They were appaled that a gyno had diagnosed me with it, without a biopsy. I had been experiencing bad reactions to the potent steroid ointment, which complicated my case further, along with thinking I had an autoimmune disease that leads to cancer at the age of 27, all thanks to Dr. August. Please...go somewhere else for your OBGYN care.

Please do not use Dr August as a doctor. She was nice at the beginning assuring the delivery would happen my way. Towards the end of appointments this was not the case. First she said she would induce me on certain date and on that date changed her mind. Then When I was finally in the hospital she wanted to break my water... I told her no with my other children my water broke on its own. She didn't listen after I told her no several times and tried to break my water. Well my water already broke (which at appointment I told her I thought I was leaking fluid and she said no) and all she was doing is scratching my sons head. Then she wanted me to get an epideral which I did not with my other child. She assured me it would help delivery. Luckily I had a good nurse and didn't. Then when we were pushing she told me she needed to suction the baby which I haven't had happened to me either. When the nurse and my husband said no. She lost her cool and yelled saying I am the doctor and I know what to do. Throughout the delivery she lied about my dilation to show I wasn't making progress to persuade me to get an epideral. When she left room nurse checked and I was 2cm more than she said I was. She was rushing entire process from beginning to end without a care in the world. After the baby was born she never came in to see how I was doing or check my stomach. Overall she is very unprofessional and I honestly believe it is a health risk to use this doctor and would not recommend it to anyone.
Ps the other staff was wonderful good nurses and reception but would never recommend this doctor to anyone.

Do not go to this MD. She is horrible. I had to find a new MD mid pregnancy. She is unprofessional and violated HIPPAA laws in my case as well. Stay away.
