Literally walked out of that office 30 mins ago. This Geneticist is great. He was running a tad late, but made sure the staff told me right away, explained why (he works in two buildings) they were so kind. I pretty much came prepared for a diagnosis of hEDS and POTS but I needed the official diagnosis. Yup. Winner winner chicken dinner...rare genetic disorder...This man is knowledgeable, HONEST! The new, updated information JUST came out about Ehlers-danlos syndrome, and he fully admitted he hadnt been able to go through it all quite yet. But told me which articles he had read...and one in particular, he pointed to (in the book i brought) he told me was going to cover it all for what i need to do to make sure i take care of myself. Told me what I need to enroll in, (physio, paon management and so on) He was straight forward, he seemed a tad hurried, but he was running behind and i totally understand that. Despite that, he did not leave a single question unanswered. If you need a geneticist, this gentleman's knowledge is invaluable. Bed side manner is great! But, hes not going to treat you like a child or sugar coat it. He wont talk down to you. He is a "no BS" kind of man. Calling all fellow Manitoba EDS folk!! He knows his stuff! He cares, and he's willing to listen too. You suspect it? See him, he will know.

Found him to be very knowledgeable, patient and easy to talk to. He started by asking my spouse why we were there and getting a patient and very thorough family history. He explained everything to us (sometimes twice) without making us feel stupid, even commenting that genetics are complicated. We walked away with a ton of information (3 pages of notes) and were really grateful to be able to ask questions without feeling rushed.

Didn't find this doctor helpful. Asked me why I was there when I was referred by my doctor and it wasn't my idea to go there in the first place. Told me I didn't likely have a genetic condition that I found out later that I did . Already had a cancer diagnosis when I was there anyway, thought I might get some ideas as to future screening but they were too busy convincing us we didn't have the condition when infact we found out later that we did. Very disappointing

We met Dr B Chodirker four years ago when our son was born with some unexpected problems. I highly recommend Dr Chodirker. I felt like, if we're going to get bad news, I can't think of anyone I'd rather hear it from. I also felt like he truly enjoyed meeting our infant son, as a person, not as an object to be investigated/diagnosed/labelled. Honest, but very kind. Easy to talk to.

We met with Dr. Chodirker at Women's Hospital prior to our 12-week prenatal ultrasound. He was friendly, personable and knowledgeable. He explained the testing and our options clearly, and took the time to help us decide whether or not to proceed with screening. We appreciated his patience and the way he put us at ease during what could have been a stressful appointment. We were pleased with the staff in his office as well as those upstairs in admitting and in the fetal assessment unit.
