Dr. Jalink performed my surgery. He followed up with me in a timely manner. I found him to be kind, personable and professional.

Had my gallbladder removed by him several years ago when I was 16. I still experience pain, the scars took far longer than normal to heal and were bleeding before I even left the hospital. When I walked into the operating room, one of the nurses was cleaning the laparoscope instruments in the sink from the previous patient to be used on me. Dr. Jalink stood in the corner of the operating room drinking a cup of coffee and tapping his foot, impatiently asking when the anesthesiologist would finally put me under while the nurse and medical student wiped my tears. I believe because of the post-op complications, it was most likely the medical student who performed the majority of the surgery, and not Dr. Jalink. The other possibility is that based on his irritability and the nurses quickly cleaning the room for the next patient, that they were in a rush to complete all the surgeries for that day. Either way, my quality of care was compromised, in large part due to Dr. Jalink's entitlement, arrogance, and disrespect for his patients. I asked to be followed up with because I still experienced excruciating pain after it was removed, but he would not see me. So my family physician chose to investigate using a multitude of diagnostic tests. This man should not be performing surgery on minors when his bedside manner is lacking significantly.

I met Dr. Jalink today for the first time and he was so kind, compassionate, caring and professional. Being a nurse I have had numerous surgeries and health issues and now requiring other surgeries, I didn't know what to expect. All I can say is from first impressions, Dr. Jalink is a prime example of what a doctor should be being so honest, upfront and taking the time to speak with me while sharing his professionalism. I feel so blessed and hopefully to have met him and feel confident that I am in great hands. Thank you.

It's hard to know what to say about a doctor and his wonderful staff that stood on their feet for eleven hours conducting a very complicated operation that ultimately saved my life. Right from my first meeting with Dr. Jalink he was kind, professional, and showed amazing compassion. Being a lay person and not truly understanding my condition, Dr. Jalink guided me through the questions and answers I needed to appreciate my cancer. He was straightforward and ensured that I clearly understood the risks involved with my operation and follow on treatment. As has been written by a previous review, I also cannot say enough good things about Dr.Jalink, his staff, and his amazing team of medical professionals.

We had had many months of having Dr Jalink as our Dr and I cannot say enough GOOD things about him. Due to an emergency visit to another hospital I had multiple issues by the time I got to KGH and required major surgery and a lot of ongoing care for the following 15 months spending time each month in the hospital. Dr. Jalink is very caring and attentive with multiple on going visits keeping us very well informed through my stay at KGH. I am sure I would not be here writing this if it were not for him. His staff has bent over backwards to accommodate me on short notice. Great group of people!!!!!

Excellent service by Dr. Jalink and his staff. I have five-year colonoscopy checkups, and he makes the whole procedure almost welcome ... answers all questions, is polite and very professional, as is the staff at Hotel Dieu.

He had removed my gallbladder 10 days ago and was my first surgery. When he came and met me before surgery he was very friendly and explained everything to me and calmed me down. In the operating room he could tell I was really nervous and scared and while they out my IV in he was asking me the things I enjoyed doing and told him about my daughter and was laughing with me!! Strongly recoment him and his staff!! Amazing surgeon and amazing stage that make you feel safe and very welcome!
