Hi There! If anyone finds they are running into questionable billing /medical practices with this office, please contact me.
I am researching history of this and finding several patients running into the same situation of over billing and then months later, additional billing that never seems to end.
my email DREAMWEAVER95010@gmail.com - Thank you!

Dr. Chris has helped me, oh my goodness, a lot. I have had fibromyalgia for 18 frustrating years. When I walked into his office after filling out paperwork, which if you have chronic pain you know the drill fill out the papers and wait for someone to tell you that they can't help you. He didn't do that. We talked and went over the paperwork for an hour. We, notice I said WE set up a plan. My world got better. I still have pain. My pain level is a 3 now which I can cope with. When I walked in it was a solid 6 months of 8 level pain and I was on oxycodone. I couldn't think, hardly walk and was really an angry woman. Chris listened got me off the oxycodone, and helped me with an anti-inflammatory diet, acupuncture, vitamins, hormones and listened and explained things to me. I still have bad days, one or three a month, but I can live with that and my mind is able to think again, the pain is so much better. I wish it had not taken me so long to find him and his office. I wasted a lot of years with mind numbing medicines and wracking pain. Now life is way better then it was.

When I relocated to the Salem area I needed to put together a new care team and after 10 years with Kaiser I needed a fresh viewpoint on things. I had been told things were what they were and they would never get better, accept chronic pain and deal with it. I located a new PCP that referred me to Dr. Kleronomos; I had my doubts, and at the time of the referral his office was still getting set up so things were a little crazy. Almost 18 months later are things totally better, no, but they have improved and when I follow the treatment plan things get even better.
Let me address a couple of the previous comments that sound more like a disgruntled patient that didn’t get an easy fix with minimal work by the patient themselves. Can Dr. Kleronomos come off as egotistical, yes…he can, but if you really stop to listen to him it’s passion not ego. I could see how one could see him as being a bully, but again he is VERY passionate about what he does, his patients, and puts a lot of time into researching possible treatments options and consulting with a variety of other specialists if needed. He takes his job very seriously, wants his patients to improve, and yes, does get frustrated when he lays a treatment plan out and we, as patients don’t follow it. We can’t complain about a lack of results when we don’t follow doctor’s instructions. Dr. Kleronomos is not an opiate pusher; in fact, he would prefer herbs, dietary supplements, and change in diet/eating habits. Alternative medicine and treatments (i.e., supplements and herbs) are not typically covered by insurance companies; he is running a business and has to cover his expenses. I know for a fact that he tries working with different vendors, pharmacies, and herb suppliers without sacrificing quality. Insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies have made finding quality alternative medicine a challenge at best. Dr. Kleronomos has invested years of education, time, and experience into being a leader in his field. He can have a busier schedule due to speaking engagements. He does know what he’s talking about when he’s allowed to do what he needs to do to get to the root of the problem.
As a wrap up, yes your first appointment will be long, he may input several things into a computer or take notes, and he will order a ton of lab work…can’t make a proper diagnosis without being able to determine what is wrong. He will probably suggest supplements, herbs, dietary modifications, a variety of treatment options and at least checking in with the practice mental health provider. Your insurance may or may not cover everything he suggests. It is up to you to communicate your needs, wants, and financial abilities with the understanding that the more restriction you put on him varies what he can do for you. As with any provider, things work if you do as suggested…the long-term outcome is directly proportionate to how much effort you are willing to put into and if you follow instructions. Dr. Kleronomos is very passionate about what he does and for some, his delivery isn’t warm and fuzzy enough…if you don’t like it, tell him, he won’t sugar coat things, but he can’t fix something if he doesn’t know it’s an issue. You WILL NOT find a provider or office that works harder to advocate for their patients or find relief for your aliments. Dr. Kleronomos has a passion that can be overwhelming at times, but it does benefit you if you allow it. To not give their multi-disciplinary approach at least a try is denying yourself some level of relief and a better understanding of what’s going on with your own health.

Dr. Chris shared with our Portland Lyme Support group about the use of Bee Venom Therapy (BVT). Most Lyme patients experience pain. BVT can be helpful for this and some research and experience by patients suggest it may be helpful in combating the Lyme infection, although this has not been proven.

Chris is a real expert on the subject of BVT and this was evident by his presentation. In fact Chis is Vice President of the American Apitherapy Society which deals with the medicinal use of bee products including bee venom. Chris has extensive knowledge in many areas. Chris is not only a Nurse Practitioner, but a Dr. of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and has a Masters of Science in Functional Medicine and Clinical Nutrition. Chris's openness, honesty, and truthfulness, on the subject of BVT, and health in general, and what is and is not know was refreshing.

Chris was very generous with his time and stayed way beyond the scheduled meeting time to answer questions. We are fortunate to have such a doctor in Oregon that not only looks at treating pain, but looks at addressing the root causes of pain for his patients.

This office is horrible and Chris Kleronmos is an egotistical bully. He loves to argue and goes out of his way to cause you more distress. He also likes to make sure you need him by giving you pills you dont need and refuses to take you on unless you do so. His knowledge is nil. There were many HIPPA laws broken. Canceled appointments and changed appointments that you werent aware of. If you value your health, you will stay away from here.

Not a pleasant experience. Every visit was filled with anxiety and tension. Bad bedside manner, grouchy, is defensive, and made me feel worse. This office is tense also. It's hard enough being sick without dealing with their issues. Very disorganized. Maybe he has knowledge, but with all of the complaining and the "chip on his shoulder," it's hard to see that. This n.p. talks down to you, and he gets defensive too. Most alternative practitioners are "Western" in practice, and that's true here. It's a spendy office if you want alternatives. That makes the alternative treatments affordable to only some. He gives pain medications out also. Fibro patients shouldn't take opiates. They cause more problems, and with medical cannabis, why prescribe opiates? You'd think that an n.p. and Chinese physician would use natural remedies before addictive meds. Be prepared if you go here. If you don't have money, use caution. You'll end up paying in many ways. Sad to see that another practitioner isn't what he seemed. Oh, and he gossips about patients in the office. Not cool!
