unhelpful staff, lying doctor. no interest in paitents. his staff actively tried to block me from making an appointment by saying it wouldn't be for some months. that was my best option at the time so i took it. finally got the appointment and when i rang back afterwards to request to be placed on the waiting list they said they had done so. over ten years ago.

An excellent doctor. He doesn't rush in, but is very thorough. Explains what is going on and is very careful in his decisions. Highly recommended .

Like some of the other reviewers, I had the unfortunate experience of being told to get private health insurance and come back in a year, after a double discectomy failed to alleviate my problems. And the 'pain management' specialist he referred me to was even worse. His attitude was this is your life now learn to cope with the pain.

Considering how anyone can leave a review here without verification, I'm certain that all of the positive feedback Dr. Al-Khawaja has received is utter garbage. Ask anyone in the medical world and they'll tell you that he's not to be trusted and shoddy. Money is all this man is after. Sadly I found out the hard way after he botched a routine back injection resulting in permanent nerve damage and excruciating pain that still continues two years later. Everything about his operation is a sham, including the fact that he'll whip you into hospital, perform the back injection himself and only under a general anaesthetic, all while skimming a nice profit from the private health insurance company. The worst part was that he couldn't have cared less that he'd made my back even worse than before and did everything in his power to minimise the situation. His staff then had the audacity to charge me two hundred dollars for the "follow-up" consultation. An arrogant fraud.

Had lower back issues for long time countless injections done at imaging places i booked in a appointment very professional respectful and explained to me properly what he was doing, surgery was almost painless and can already feel the difference walking out of the hospital 4 hours later

The neurosurgeon to beat all neurosurgeons. Fit me in for a consult the day after a referral from a pain management specialist, MRI same day, surgery the following week along with an attending vascular surgeon. Couldn't apologise more for post op complications that were out of his control and follow up appointments are almost a joy to attend. Thanks Doc, see you again soon
