As a patient I am very uncomfortable with this doctor's practice.
Found him unhelpful, unpunctual, unknowledgeable and unfriendly.
The reason is because he mistakenly assessed that I have an abnormal additional cervical rib when the imaging shows no abnormalities and every other doctor I've seen told me I have a regular number of ribs.
Bad bedside manner. Told me to get pregnant and stay thin. Caused my body pain and distress during the assessments. Staff didn't even have the consent forms properly filled out prior to the assessment. I do not recommend.

Just had an appointment today and really enjoyed my visit. He didn't rush and explained everything he was doing and what the significance of what he found or didn't find. Genuinely surprised at the reviews saying he has poor bedside manner as I found him to be very nice and genuinely seemed to care for my well being.

i had complications due to surgery which I found out later after another examination from a professional not connected to Dr. Fry.
The person who claimed that anyone who had a bad experience is experiencing sour grapes sounds like Dr. Fry himself. Yes, if someone is rude and botches your surgery, you tend towards upset. Shall those who did not appreciate his incompetence or rude as send him a thank you note for his rudeness or incompetence instead?
Those who have differing experiences need not attack others.

Unable to keep an appointment and when able to do so...wants me to abuse the MSP system by having to go back to my GP (even though I have moved and unable to get a new doc in city) and have them fax another referral even tho the GP's office would accommodate him with a computer referral....guess he's afraid he wouldn't get the same fee...money once again plays an important role ... And at his age you'd think it wouldn't matter....another specialist gladly accommodated me because of the circumstance....unable to fairly rate punctuality or knowledge due to his refusal to accept a computerized re-referral....very sad...so in order for this rating to go thru...I have no other option but to rate a 1 in those categories.....

Not sure about some of these negative comments, seems like sour grapes more than anything. This guy was very professional, polite, on time, funny and really caring. He was also pretty blunt and to the point about my health issues and what I needed to do to get better and to be seen by him. His waiting list is longer than six months and he basically told me that I needed to stop smoking if I wanted to be seen by him, as it was hurting my chances of recovery and if I wasn't serious about getting better he had patients on the waiting list that were and could use my space. It was shocking honesty, but I needed it and I quit and am recovering well. He took so much time to explain everything to me and my wife, even called me at home to check in on me afterward I was discharged from the hospital. Very impressed and would recommend him as one of the most caring and best doctors I have met, in fact better than my GP!

Read reviews, was nervous going in as some were so negative. I was SO surprised. He was friendly, polite and treated me very well. Varicose veins have been treated and I am so happy with him. I couldn't imagine him being rude as he was just great with me =)

I have had four surgeries done by Dr Fry for thoracic outlet syndrome and lived him. Friendly, helpful, we great with my daughter as well. The surgeries went well, he checked on me daily and worked closely with me for pain management. I had my 1st at VGH and was so happy with him that I followed him to Abbotsford for my other ones. I was extremely happy with him and his staff and have recommended him.

Worst doctor I ever had. Tied my veins - left a stitch out of skin and bruised very very badly. Staff was short and obnoxious. He should have stripped my veins but did not. Told me my insurance would pay for laser. Good thing I check first because he was wrong. Old, old ways, stuck in his ways. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible doctor.
