Jacob here.
I met Dr. Farnan a few days ago, and I wanted to say it was one of my favorate meetings I've had with some one in many years. I was very scared at first weeks before my meeting. I felt and understood that this meeting could potentially change my life for better or worse. Deciding I was going to be fully honest and open about my life before the meeting relieved some of that tension, but the fear of the unknown was still there. I was thinking thinking to myself before the meeting I might have some time to speak with the Dr. To get a feel of how much of a passion he had for his job, and weather I might just be another tick on a peice of paper, or to be seen as an individual. When I entered the room Dr. Farnan greeted me with kind eyes, and before I asked him about weather his job might be something he liked to do, and if he may feel fulfilled by it he began telling me a short story of his career. We chatted a bit before we began, and the level of trust we were able to establish was personally outstanding to me. I shared some very personal stories of my past, and a bit about my life up untill that date. After the interveiw the doctor truly made me feel heard, and cared for on a deep level. I am truly Greatful.

This man is an amazing and very knowledgeable compassionate addiction specialist. He spent 2.5 hours assessing me, speaking to me with the utmost respect and compassion for a disease I did not chose for myself. I needed help and this man got me to treatment centre. He is a specialist for a reason and I am grateful for his hard work, the amount of paperwork he had to do for just me, let alone the other clients and patients he sees in various settings. A busy man and a humble one at that!

I seen Dr.Farnan as my LTD case manager decided she knew more than my family and that her amazing ZERO years of medical school should send me to appointments because my doctor with a l should book me into appointments as to her knowledge she tEverything over your whole life on paper. Every mistake u made even as a adolescent always looks ten times worse on paper. Not to mention someone you just met wants you to reveal all your personal expereinces, things that embarass you, things that you may of not even thought about in years. Then running in the back of your head if you were sent from your employer or insurance company, will this effect my family, my income, my job. It is his job that he was hired to do by who sent you there. He had said something during my appointment that I found very correct- I didnt go seek you as a patient, you were sent to me by someone and for some reason. He was right. My ever so smart inaurance case worker with her lack of a medical degree figured that I must be a drug abuser because I was prescribed pain killers after spending a month in the trauma unit after splitting my femur vertically into 7 peices along with a non operative compression burst fracture in my spine! So after a horrific car accident lets make her drive 6 hours ( 4 hrs for most but I cant sit that long with my back pain) and let's have her have a day full of anxiety and flashbacks of her accident driving on a highway notorious for being dangerous.
My Obstetrician Dr. Awad I was booked to have my cecarean with my son had also terribe reviews before seeing him and he was a wonderful doctor so when I read these reviews I said to my husband people always seem to find time to write the negative crap but rarley the good.
I went to the wrong address and he still took me for my apointment 30 minutes late and gave me 45 minutes if needed.
He was pleasent and tried to personable.

An excellent, kind and caring doctor. I too, was terrified to see him after reading all of the reviews. I'm so grateful for the help I've received through Dr. Farnan. In essence he has saved my life.

Just had Dr. Farnan complete a complex medical assessment on someone I know well who was having problems that seemed to never resolved. He took some flack for giving honest feedback to the patient, but it was what the patient needed. That patient has turned his life around. perhaps saved his life.

I had Dr Farnan as a family practioner. He is very cut and dry and to the point and also very honest with his opinion. He's a smart man and has been the best doctor I've had the and it saddens me that he moved to this department and left family practice . I hope he continues to help ppl because as a family doctor I couldn't have had better a better doctor. I value his opinion and his forwardness. If u don't like the straight up truth or his views he's not the doc for u. I only wish he was bAck on fam medicine

Addiction is a complex condition. Individuals like one in my family was completely blind to the severity of his illness. it isn't easy to put all the findings together and convey the conclusions to the patient. I am relieved Dr. Farnan takes this so seriously.

I waited until I received a copy of the report that farnan was paid to write for the insurance company prior to writing this review as I wanted all information possible before passing judgment on his processes. Based on the ratings on this site I was terrified to meet with this doctor. I was very wary when I initially met him but he seemed to be reasonable to me. In regards to someone stating farnan is homophobic, I have to say it is my opinion that this is not true. I researched him and his family online prior to meeting with him, as knowing as much about someone as I can makes me more comfortable , and during my research discovered that one of his daughters is a les in a long term serious relationship and her and her father appear to have a good relationship and her post secondary education was paid for. So I don't think he's homophobic. I was surprised at the amount of errors in the report provided to the insurance company, considering he was paid almost $3000 for a 2 hour meeting and writing this report. I expected a greater level of accuracy .... my name wasn't even spelled correctly! There was also contradicting information on some pages in the report. There was some information that was not true, but not serious information that would affect me in a major way, just little things that seem to have been misinterpreted or just left out as perhaps he wasn't fully paying attention. However I know he recorded the meeting, so im really not sure how that happened. All in all I would not say that meeting with farnan benefitted me, but I can also say that it was not a harmful experience. The staff were friendly enough, but seemed pretty disorganized. One thing that I took note of was overhearing them ask other patients who were leaving to review their experience, and this was not offered to me. Maybe only other Doctors there do this and not farnan himself. I believe that anyone having to see this guy is going have their life picked apart and it will seem invasive , but that's to be expected with specialists like this and you can't take it personally.
