If the insurance company wants to send you to this dr, avoid all costs! I should have known something was off when the insurance company said on a Friday he had availability I’ll the following Monday. He made me wait ages, then spent about 10 minutes “assessing” me before coming to the conclusion that all the other drs were wrong and made some very rude remarks. I left crying. His office was piled with files everywhere, it’s very obvious he just gets through as much as possible with minimum work to get paid by the insurance companies.

Was very impersonal didn’t care about the situation - as long as he was being paid by the insurance and saving them money to put in his pocket meant he was happy.

Sent to this IME AFTER I already got my WPI%, did no testing on me saw him for less than 5 minutes and he wouldn’t do his report. Previous IME TESTED ME, for an hour and wrote an accurate report, I took a friend with me to take mental notes in case of insurance shonkiness, and this doctor did not test me to justify any changes in my original WPI from previous IME

He works for insurance he doesn’t care about you

I had life changing surgery by Dr Sheehy on 14th Nov 2013. A laminectomy C4 - C7. He and his staff were professional, knowledgeable, lovely people. His bedside manner was lovely, and all the nursing staff thought he was a gentleman too. He was very thorough in his assessment, not wanting to operate until he was sure there was going to be the highest level of probability that it would be effective. Highly recommended.

Dr John Sheehy operated on a friend of mine. When she asked on the day she was discharged from ST vincents private clinic "what should I do if anything goes wrong" he replied "nothing will go wrong " that night when she felt "strange" she went to bed thinking she would be OK after a nights sleep, she awoke the next morning unable to speaker or walk. An embolism had caused a stroke . Three months after intensive physical therapy in rehab at ST vincents she returned home and lives with some after effects. If she had been told " if you are concerned phone an ambulance and return to hospital " she would have done so and probably been treated quickly and successfully. Although dr Sheehy passed by her room many times during her stroke recovery he never once looked in on her. Very disappointing treatment . Star rating zero

Two major spinal ops for my husband/fellow Farmer and we couldn’t have asked to gave a more professional specialist than Dr Sheehy. Great knowledge, fantastic surgery & professional care by his staff was absolutely astounding & very much appreciated.
Wouldn’t recommend going anywhere else.

Dr Sheehy operated on me almost 6 months after saying I would be in hospital for 4 to 5 days and then up and running in 3 weeks as he has done hundreds of this type of operation now after 4 to 5 weeks in hospital and the 5 weeks at my sons recouping before they felt I was well enough to go home I am left with so many medical issues that the costs are immensely ongoing not to mention the back pain and the nerve pain in my buttocks I am in agony all day every day if this is to be the rest of my life I don't know if I am able to handle the ongoing pain.
