Dr Hart performed a Thyroid Lobectomy on me, and I am so glad that he was my surgeon. He is very genuine and knowledgeable, and his demeanor instills a lot of confidence. I was not worried at all going into my surgery. My scar is healing so well, and im sure with time, it will be hardly visible. I would highly recommend him.

When I was a first year med student at Dalhousie, Dr Hart was my preceptor and I was fortunate indeed. As a RegFNO who had served in Haiti and Afghanistan, in addition to volunteering on medical missions to Honduras & Guatemala I thought I knew what ENT was. Nope! My own daughter had several bilateral myringotomies (thanks Dr Gerald Corsten), and in my own OR experience at CHEO, I thought ENT was tonsillitis, and ear tubes. But no! Turns out Dr Hart is a total rock star & does incredible 18 hour cases on some of the most serious cancers I’ve ever seen...and I’ve spent too much time in the poorest countries of the world, where people cry with gratitude for a Tylenol pill and have deforming debilitating tumours you never would see here. Maritimers and Atlantic Canadians are truly fortunate to have caring, skilled experts such as Dr Hart and the Otolaryngology Program at Dalhousie/VGH. Although I’m a born and bred West Coast=Best Coast Salish Escapee (Sorry Haida Gwaii) I’m married to a NL & I do miss the E Coast now that we’re stuck in Central 🇨🇦. Your health care is amazing, considering the population size and logistical area it encompasses. Now that I have my own thyroid/lymphoma blues I wish I was either home with my people or back in HFX, not in the Muskokas where I’m playing musical admissions with 7 different specialists on the labour day long weekend. Bigger is not necessarily better. But a huge thank you to Dr Hart & his team for being such a great mentor and a fine example of how Universal Health Care should work- Lt(N) retired C Crawley (nee Buck) BScN MN MD(in progress) Coast Salish First Nation (Sto:lo)

I was referred to Dr. Hart after a positive SNB. He seen me within a week and presented his plan for care. His proposal was accepted by the board and I had my surgery within 5 weeks. His skill, demeanor and knowledge are exceptional. Anyone that gets to be attended by him should know they are being cared for by an incredible surgeon and person. I was up walking within hours of a neck dissection and home and back to work in two days.

I was referred to Dr. Hart by Dr. Chad Robertson as my tumour was a squamous cell carcinoma which was situated in the floor of my mouth.
It was suspected that a flap might have to be put in place after the removal of the lymph nodes.
In less than 30 days I was in for surgery and was fortunate that the flap surgery was not required.
Dr. Hart has excellent staff who always have time to answer questions or concerns and give the feeling that you are being very well taken care of.
Dr. Hart is extremely knowledgeable and will take all of the time necessary to answer questions or explain procedures.
I less than 2 months from diagnosis I have had surgery and some positive hopes for a prognosis.
For serious disease.....THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH OUR HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. And also unlike the U.S. I am not financially ruined either.

I have only the highest respect for Dr Hart. He is a marvellously talented surgeon. I have had follow up visits with other doctors and dentists over the past three and half years since my surgery and his work always brings out open praise for his fine work. But even more impressive is his caring nature and empathy. He is like the calm in the storm when one is thrust into the distressing reality of facing cancer.

Dr. Robert Hart saved my life. I admire this man for his knowledge, modesty, humility & compassion. I'd list all positive traits on and on here if I had time. I look forward to all my visits to his clinic to see all the ENT staff and Dr.Hart. I must also give credit to the myriad of doctors and nurses at the QEH who are helping me through this cancerous ordeal. No matter what the outcome, live or die, Dr.Hart will always be an idol of mine.

My name is Jason Perry and Dr. Seinfeld...I mean Dr. Hart will be operating on my brother on May 9th. He has a fantastic team and doesn't beat around the bush. If I am ever afflicted with cancer I would want Dr. Hart to be on my side with "guns blazing".
