I saw Dr Melacharkova and she was discriminatory, rude and unhelpful so my family physician referred me to Dr Pandya, I had actually already seen him twice in about 4-5 years and each time I was referred to him he refused to do any tests and said that anxiety was my problem both times. This 3rd time I get a referral and he decides to book a colonoscopy without speaking to me first and I tried asking for a phone consultation before hand and the receptionist said it wasn’t necessary and that I could talk to him the day of my scope before I go in. I also tried phoning them again a few days before the colonoscopy to ask the receptionist questions, I was concerned about my symptoms and tolerating the colonoscopy prep but she was dismissive with me and gave me no advice. I took the colonoscopy prep in full as directed and it was rough. I was stuck in the bathroom for 8 hours, got no sleep and was late for my colonoscopy but told to come in anyway to get it done by the nurses on the phone at PRHC. The nurses were great, helpful and kind but Pandya left me in the hallway for at least a half hour and when he did speak to me he was asking me about certain medications I take, I was exhausted and tried to answer his questions the best I could. He said he would come talk to me afterwards but when I woke up he left a note with the nurses that said “everything’s normal, your problem is stress. Seek therapy.” I was also told to follow up with my family physician in a month. Firstly, I don’t know how someone who refused to ever speak to me could know how stressed I am? Second, I need follow up with a gastroenterologist to do more tests to figure out what is actually wrong and clearly he just decided to dismiss me without any type of real guidance on what to do next. I see a few different specialists for different health issues but so far gastroenterologists seem to be the hardest to deal with and it’s really defeating. Doctors are supposed to help people, aren’t they? Pandya certainly did not help me, he wasted my time.

My husband and I were introduced to Dr. Pandya during a hospital admittance. He was kind, understanding, explained things well and went over and above offering support to me as my husbands caregiver. He was simply amazing!

I was very nervous seeing a new gi doctor. My previous on was horrible and all the reviews on here about him were correct.
That said this doctor was awesome. I had read the reviews here and got nervous after the last few were negative this year
I have to say he was amazing. Took the time before my colonoscopy to explain my diagnosis to me and his plan for it. Listened to me about my issues with previous colonoscopies and immediately changed the plan to accommodate my issues.
After the colonoscopy he came to explain what he had found and his long term plan for me.
Very helpful extremely nice. Especially after my previous dr

I had a phone appointment booked for June 14 2021 at 4pm. Dr. Pandya ended up not calling me and I had figured that he had just gotten busy. It was no big deal to me though as it was just a checkup, I had no upcoming scopes, I had zero symptoms from my crohns disease and haven't had a flare in over a year. I thought about calling them the next day to let them know I didn't receive the call but I figured why waste his time when he could be talking to patients who are actually currently sick. Fast forward to this past Friday. I called the office to ask a question and his rude secretary Nadine cuts me off to point out that I missed my phone appointment on June 14. I told her that I had not received this phone call and could even provide my phone records directly from Rogers if they wanted to compare it to theirs. (Keep in mind I've had the same number for about 12 years) she said that wouldn't be necessary and that she would ask Dr. Pandya about my question but it would be roughly 2 weeks for a response. The next day, this past Saturday I get a message from Dr. Pandya at 10:44am stating that he was closing my chart due to this "missed phone appointment" I tried calling him back about 5 minutes later but was unable to get through as their office is closed on the weekend. I received a call from his secretary Nadine yesterday (Monday) stating that Dr. Pandya was closing my chart and to contact my family doctor. When I asked why she stated it was due to this apparent missed appointment as well as "medicine non-compliance?" This part really confused me as Dr. Pandya took me off of Remicade in August 2020 as I had a bad anaphylactic reaction to it after taking it for 4 years. He was going to put me on Humira but agreed that I could try to manage my crohns on my own with dietary changes before committing to a new medication. This is what I did and have been doing great! He had no issue with me not starting Humira last summer and I've seen him a few times since then and Humira has never come up in conversation and is aware that I've been doing very well since going off Remicade. He knows I am not one to decline medications or procedures that will help me but was supportive of my decision to try managing without. If I had known he wanted me to go on Humira and didn't want me to try managing on my own, I would have done so. I don't think this has anything to do with that though as it's been an entire year since then and just now he wants to drop me as a patient due to this call that he did not make. I see the review below me recently had a similar encounter with him. It really is a shame. Unfortunately just can't take accountability for his own errors and would rather close your chart and blame you for his mistake. That in combination with his rude secretary Nadine, I would not recommend this specialist to anyone after this experience.

After reading so many wonderful reviews I decided to be referred to Dr Pandya. I had read that he likes to avoid prescribing medication which was the appeal. I had a phone consultation with him initially at which time he ordered a colonoscopy so he could do his own examination. After that he scheduled a follow-up phone appt. The appt was cancelled and moved to the following week, and the following week he did not call at all. I called a few hours after my appt and left a message. The secretary called me back the next business day and advised it was all clear and that no other follow-up was needed. I told her that I was not the one who ordered the scope and that I still wanted to talk to him about my issues. She told me he tried calling the previous day yet there was no record of him calling and there was no voicemail left. I had waited all day for his call. She said there was nothing more he could do and refused to let me ever talk to him again. I told her I had only had a consultation with him and that I hadn't even talked to him yet, he wanted to perform the scope first. She then referred me back to my family Dr. Dr Pandya clearly isn't the wonderful Dr everyone keeps posting about when I never even got the chance to speak to him besides my initial consultation. The health care system is falling apart, and this Dr is contributing to it.

Sad info about Dr Pandya. I am having a lot of troubles with my ulcers, liver and colon. After going to emerge they decided it was very crucial I get seen by pandya immediately. After waiting for a week for a phone call for booking, it was decided it was not important and I would have to wait until September to just have a phone call. I then seeked my family doctor, who was appauled by this. My family doctor referred me to a different gastro doctor and it has since been 4 days. Got a phone call today and I’m booked for a colonoscopy and endoscopy for Friday. He was also appalled that pandya wouldn’t see me. I cannot eat, I’m puking blood and have very bloody stool. If I even eat a cracker or a sip of water I immediately puke it up. I am litterally starving myself at this point and this doctor couldn’t even give me a look.

That was one of the best doctors appointments I have ever had. Dr. Pandya was friendly knowledgeable, and addressed all my concerns. He was skilled at explaining things to me in terms I could understand. The only downside was how long I had to wait to see him as his wait list is significant.

After years of a deteriorating digestive system, one phone consult (due to COVID-19 pandemic) I have experienced a dramatic improvement. Dr Pandya listened to my history and suggested that I probably have SIDO. He recommended an antibiotic treatment and the results have been amazing.

Dr. Pandya, is an amazing Dr. He is very knowledgeable and takes time to explain meds and testing and procedures. I have a fear of Dr but this Dr makes me so comfortable and treats me with an understanding. Thanks Dr. Pandya.
