I am writing this almost 11 years to the day after completing treatment for cancer in my throat and neck. I know my wife and I enjoyed Francois immensely throughout my six-month adventure. Each visit, while necessary of course, was really educational and we also found Francois to be quite an uplifting young man. I was advised by the team before treatment that I would survive this cancer, but the treatment would be excruciating at times. Those promises all came true. I suppose I am fortunate to be alive today - to be able to complain about the effects of treatment. A bit of a dry mouth and thyroid meds every day. Francois played a huge role in the success of my treatment and we are so happy he continues to occupy such an important role in the ongoing battle against cancer. We left Kelowna a few years ago, but we'll always remember Francois quite fondly.

Best to have on your side when you have to fight cancer.
He treated my hubby in 2011. In 2013 he did pass on but it was one of those cancers that rarely doesn't win its victim.
He worked with us on the second round as well and partly because hubby hid the fact that it was back time was on the side of the second attack.
Anyway Dr Bachand treated us well. Always professional with a bit of humor and loads of care while working fast when needed... so... in 2016 I was diagnosed with cancer... also one that can be hard to beat as well and by the size and weight of the tumor it had been hiding in me for probably many years. We beat it... me and Bachand's team.
I requested him when I found out I had cancer because he was so good with us during my hubby's cancer and final days.
Did not care for the chemo Dr appointed to my case... she was pushy and even said I'd get it back after it was surgically removed if I didnt take her chemo in a year and would die. So... I went with Dr Bashand's radiation and my own chemo... Marijauana and I am still alive today. Thank you Dr Bashand and MJ gummies... and yes. That has to be said because it proved to do what chemo might and was less painful and sickening to the body but yet people still dont believe it.
I'm not saying skip chemo but if your team believes you know your own body and supports your decisions like Dr Bashand did your chances of survival are much better. I just made my decisions, took all of the treatments I thought I could handle and I picked my team which is why I'm alive today and Dr Bachand and my family doctor plus Vancouver surgeons are my heroes.

Dr. Bachand and his staff are top notch in every way. I am so grateful that he and his team are looking after me. So understanding and on top of things. It really meant a lot to us that they were so compassionate with my husband as well. I am a lucky girl to have them in my corner.

I wish there was a way to rate him higher than 5 stars because honestly Dr. Bachand is in a class of his own. I sincerely credit him with my being alive today, because I won the lottery of life having him assigned to me as my primary oncologist. Having Cancer twice, I have had many different interactions with many different doctors, and can easily say Dr. Bachand is unlike any other. He is caring, Genuine, Intelligent, and has a way of putting you at ease at a time in life when your anxiety and fears can be deafening.

Count your lucky stars if Dr. Bachand is assigned to your case. He listens and takes note of your concerns. Straight forward in delivering his info to you. wonderful doctor and a credit to the profession.
