Ms. Rand did considerable harm to me psychologically, in the 20 plus years spent in her care. She did not realize that I had a serious mental illness that required medical attention. I was bullied and humiliated for being very depressed, and clinging to it self-indulgently, as she put it. She had an inflated view of the efficacy of Jungian analysis for treating serious mental illnesses. I have flourished only after receiving proper psychiatric treatment, and stopping analysis with her.
