The front desk staff seemed to be annoyed with your presence. No smile upon greeting or even to look up at you. Just says "health card" hands it back and you just stand there, until you decide to sit down to wait.
Dr was extremely punctual which was wonderful, however....
He didn't listen to my concerns after having 2 anaphylactic episodes one being shock and 2 ambulance rides later. I still have no idea what caused either of them and he didn't try to dig either. Talked over me and didn't want me to ask anything. Told me to talk to my family Dr for more answers..... SERIOUSLY why are you even still a Dr - if you don't like your job QUIT do us all a favour than to waste our time.
As another person said in another review If you want to learn nothing about your allergies though - he's your guy!

Great first experience. Was a little nervous after reading the reviews but he was so kind and helpful, explained a lot and I walked away feeling great about the appointment 🙂 don't always believe what you read!

Dr. Leith is a neglectful doctor. He never once met me in person, even when I was having bad allergic reactions daily. He started me on a new medication and then never called when he was scheduled to in order to check and see how the medication was going. He then missed his next appointment again. No phone call, no apology. I had to be the one to continually call the office to try to get him to make the time to call me. When he finally called me back, he talked over me the entire time and did not apologize for 2 missed appointments. He spends each phone call skimming over the notes of our last call and then barely lets you speak. He blamed all of the missed appointments on the administrative staff and was rude and unapologetic. He was working from home and never in the office. When he did call me, it was usually an hour earlier or later than scheduled. When he finally decided that my allergies were severe enough to be seen in person they could only offer me one time slot and said I could be waiting for upwards of 1.5 hours to be seen. Run from this doctor. He should retire.

He never actually let me finish a sentence but pronounced a diagnosis based on the referral and his preconceived ideas about what it represented. He's probably okay for dealing with straightforward medical issues but I would not look to him to solve any complex problems that involve empirical evidence or a dialog with a patient.

Punctual which I consider very professional from the beginning. Yes you need to have your facts in order but again I appreciate that as it makes the best use of my appointment. Polite and thoughtful throughout the conversation. It was a pleasure to have this Dr. take an interest in my situation.

Today I spoke with Dr. Leith on a prearranged phone call. He called exactly at the time stated (unusual for most) he spoke to me for 20 min gathering history. He listened, suggested resources to review but decided to write his findings back to my GP and other specialist for follow up.
He was very pleasant and never did I feel unheard as some others have written.
I’m a little sad to not be doing any diagnostics with him because he seems very on the ball.
I didn’t meet any of the staff other than a nice lady who called to remind me of the appointment.

Met this specialist yesterday and he was fabulous! His staff were not involved so I rated them neutral. This Dr. is not your run of the mill allergist, he is highly knowledgeable of tests required for immunology issues that are considered rare or relatively new to the medical profession, and smart as a whip. After reading all the reviews on here I was worried, but I realized what the reviews said was 1. he does listen to what you say - which means he does not like to be interrupted; 2. he will not acknowledge what you say - I found he actually respects prior diagnoses, and if no diagnosis was found he will not speculate (ie: me: i think I had covid last year; him: did you get a test; me: no they would not give me one at the height of the pandemic in ontario; him: so no covid dianosis, no covid.) I don't know what he writes in his chart, but what he communicates implies he will not speculate; 3. He has poor personality - meaning he is impatient with long winded responses.
So here's my advice to have an awesome experience with this specialist: GO PREPARED! The man is really smart, knows his stuff, but sometimes really smart people expect their patients to be just as 'to the point' and focused, and someone who is sick can't do that, so I'll tell you what worked for me: First: by write everything down and deliver your responses to him in the military sergeant fashion that he expects. A. symptoms and dates when they started, why, and dates when they re-occured, and why (to the point, do not blabber on, he does not want to know where you were on vacation when you had that final coffee that tipped you toward coffee sensitivity, just the date, time) B. past medical issues + operations and dates, who your specialists are and where they were located. C. Family history - specifically parent family history. That was for me, you may have additional stuff that's relevant to you, so have it all written down and accessible and read it out to him. Second: do not repeat yourself. say it once. the guy is smart, he will get it. That's it. He is open to suggestions you may have some obscure immune response if the symptoms align with your speculation and will order obscure tests as well as full spectrum tests that other specialists simply wont. He is a detective who will get to the bottom of your issues, but, like some really smart folks out there, he expects the rest of the world to keep up with him and gets impatient when it does not.
