Dr. Hewes and her receptionist Pam are amazing always so helpful and they go above and beyond to help you and your kiddos. We met dr Hewes in nicu and she was amazing and thorough then and she continues to be 4.5 years later. She is amazing and so kind and helpful. Cannot recommend her anymore.

Highly recommend.. Such a caring, compassionate doctor with extensive knowledge and when a doctor is passionate about what she does (trust me, you can tell), it can positively impact your life. I am lucky to have found a doctor that I can trust with my children and I am very thankful.

Dr Hewes isn't my son's pediatrician, but she was the main one to take care of him after he was born and spent time in the nicu, she is the kindest most caring pediatrician who cares about every patient she takes care of & it shows. When my son was 19 days old we took him to the ER because we thought his umbilical cord was infected, the ER doctor sent us back to peds the next day to see Sr Hewes who was on call, she was so happy to see us & wanted us to come back again the following week just to make sure his umbilical cord had fallen off before his appointment with his pediatrician the following week.

Dr Hewes always made me feel like she cared for my son while he was in the NICU & made me feel safe knowing my baby was in good care when I wasn't there.

If I said that Dr. Hewes is the only asset Abbotsford has, it wouldn't be a lie. As my daughter just had hospitalization in Abbotsford, I have both negative and positive stories to share. My daughter sees the world's best doctors at SickKids and I was super nervous when she became sick in Abbotsford, but then God sent Dr. Hewes on duty. We saw her in outpatient clinic at Abbotsford Hospital where she decided to admit us as my daughter was not making any improvements post emergency visit.
She gave the instruction to the staff to do every test to determine the answers to every unsolved mystery. She is an amazing doctor and I can't thank her enough for everything she has done for my daughter.
Dr. Hewes doesn't even wait for the nurse to take vitals on the patient. If the vitals needs to be taken, she takes the initiative and starts examining the patient right away. I want to keep on writing all the good things about her but I guess its getting lengthy.
Dr. Hewes is ready to address any queries a patient may have and has a wealth of information. Thank you Dr. Hewes, Thank you!

Dr Hewes is thorough, knowledgeable, kind and engaging. She always takes however much time is needed to do a complete assessment. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait in the waiting room but we don’t mind knowing it means that another patient is getting the exact same thorough care that we also appreciate. I recommend her very highly. Also our interactions with her office staff have always been pleasant, they have even called back after office hours to confirm an appointment.

Dr. Hewes has been our pediatrician for almost 6 years. She is amazing. Always very kind and thorough, and great with kids. Her and the office staff went above and beyond when recommending our daughter for an ASD diagnosis with Sunny Hill (which we got). Always will be thankful to her for this. Can't recommend her enough.

I can’t say enough about this wonderful, smart and kind doctor. Our daughter has had several hospital stays and I thank God every time that Dr. Hewes is there. She is thorough, patient and advocates for her tiniest of patients. She actually cares and asks how the parents are doing, and has such an amazing bedside manner, while being professional and efficient. She’s often running late, because she cares about every single patient she has and takes her time. She’s become a wonderful ray of light despite many dark days with our babes diagnosis. We are so grateful for her (and we’ve never had a word of trouble with reception either).

Spent 29 days in hospital working with Dr. Hewes. Of all the NICU pediatricians she was by far the most punctual. When we shifted to her own office there were times she was late. I did not mind in the slightest. There were many times that my child was having a medical emergency at hospital that caused her to be late for all her following patients. I Can certainly be patient waiting in her office knowing she is consistent in doing her morning rounds at the hospital first and taking care of those children and babies.

My kiddo’s situation is complex and his medication has to be switched regularly. They cause extreme reactions like Suicidal thoughts/ Actions/Severe depression. He was put on a new drug and then ignored by the doctor or staff not sure who is ignoring us here. But the front desk has told me to call the police on my child if I cannot “control” him. Umm? He’s experiencing side effects from the drug that Dr. Hewes put him on. We can see her in 4 months time. Seems normal right?! We have a serious lack of communication happening. I have a very ill child who needs his medication fixed right away not in four months..
Sincerely, Unhappy Mom.

Dr. Hewes is unbelievably helpful, warm and compassionate. Her office assistant is not. The office assistant behaves as if patients are impossibly stupid and ruining her day. Families don't make appointments with a pediatrician because they have nothing better to do. We are there because our children are struggling. We are often afraid, overwhelmed and frustrated trying to navigate the medical system. The office assistant’s poor attitude and behaviour makes a bad situation worse. She needs to go.
