Good doctor but terrible receptionist, especially when taking to seniors. Should go take lessons on how to treat people fairly and kindly.

Dr. Shum has been taking care of my couple for more than 30 years. He is patient, detailed and skilled in medical treatment.

Terrible receptionist. Extremely rude to patients especially to new patients and seniors. If you are early or late to your appointment, the receptionist will yell at you and give you attitude. She blames her frustration on the loud radio. We've asked her to turn down the volume, she said it's not possible. Then we asked her to turn it off if it frustrates her. She said it's not possible to turn it off either. She said that's the way it is and she does not find anything wrong with her terrible manners and attitude.

I have been with Dr Shum for years, he is a kind and knowledgeable doctor. Receptionist is very nice and helpful all the time.

I'll have to agree that the receptionist is one of the rudest one I ever seen in my 45+ years in Vancouver.

Everyone agrees that people working in this field should have extra kindness, but their receptionists are just the reverse. They are terribly rude and impatient to especially the aged. Whenever there is a minor mistake made over the conversations, they would overreact and scold you back as immediately and loudly as they can. They make patients feeling embarrassed as there are full of people around. Before yelling, the receptionists should understand how uncomfortable and fragile the patients are while they are sick. Hopefully, their boss will supervise them the soonest. Think, why do you engage in medical field in the beginning? And what promise you made before becoming a member in this profession?

I have seen Dr. Shum over 20 years, his medical knowledge and skills are unquestionable. His receptionist is responsible and helpful, especially for children and the elderly.
