I had a phone appointment with Dr. Pierson and it's been more than a week my doctor hasn't received anything from their office and when I call them nobody answers and Linda is always rude and not helpful.
I don't understand why would dr Pierson send my care back to family physician knowing the fact that I NEED HELP. For that reason I was referred to you. What are you taking the money for. Just chit chatting over the phone and not prescribing anything no follow up appointments?
She said my dr has to resend a referral if he needs to. What's the point of going to the psychiatrist then?
What a nasty system it is. Everyone is going crazy after money and they don't have any empathy for the patients.

Ridiculous behavior.

During and directly after my appointment I thought my appointment had gone alright; I seemed to have gotten the results I was looking for. I later asked for a copy of the referral that had been sent to my family doctor and I was slightly confused.

I am transgender nonbinary and 90% of the time I give my preferred name and pronouns unprompted; if I am prompted, I give that information 100% of the time. I understand the need for medical offices to have legal names and everything so I always provide it. Either way, the report deadnamed me, misgendered me, and made a point to include the pronouns at the beginning which were not correct. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and on the off chance I did not disclose ahead of time, I feel it is your job to ask during that appointment when you are going to make a point to explicitly include someone's pronouns.

My family doctor had sent a referral with all of my concerns and during the appointment, I, of course, reiterated my concerns for clarity but I was nervous so I wasn't really paying attention to what I was saying and sort of rambled. From then on I couldn't tell if she just had a very bubbly way of talking or if she was sort of infantilizing me. It was slightly bothersome having to respond to really rudimentary questions but I suppose that's also how the DSM-5 is written. By the end of the appointment, I was sort of questioning whether or not she had asked enough questions to meet the diagnostic criteria of all the disorders I had written on the referral but I brushed it off: I later looked at the report to find that she seemingly didn't screen me for one of the disorders I was concerned about. Did she not actually read the referral? It just frustrates me as now I'll have to potentially go through the whole process again because of this.

She recommended some different medications but left it for me to discuss with my family doctor which I'm fine with but now I'm seeing on the report that she also recommended I "take short walks 3 or more times per week" which I don't remember her saying, nor do I see how it relates.

Overall, the experience was okay but it's honestly really hard to expect much more from medical professionals. I think if the standard were slightly higher for mental health professionals, or if I didn't give people the benefit of the doubt, I likely would have rated her as poor.

Kathleen was the first of 3 psychiatrists who truly seemed to care about the issues I was facing without being degrading in some way. She took the time to listen, asked good follow up questions, and helped explain my diagnosis and how it fits with what I've been experiencing. She also helped tweak the medications I was on to better support me without forcing anything unnecessary.

Had a phone consult and went through an assessment. So helpful and knowlidgable. I'm an adult, and perhaps why my experience was different. No medication was pushed on me, Dr. Pierson was nothing but professional and understanding. Would talk to her again.

I had a phone consult with this lady and from the 45 mins I spoke with her she somehow came to the conclusion that I have an addiction. When I was told this from my family doc I was very confused as to what I am addicted to.. when I told a few close friends this they were also confused as to how I would be classified as this. Now I will have this on my record permanently thanks to this quack!
I don't believe that she should have a medical license. She is dealing with a fragile population and taking advantage of them. Like the majority of the other reviews she also tried to push antipsychotics on me after I made myself clear at the beginning of the session I was not interested in medication.
If I could rate her lower than 1 stars I would. Please DO NOT GO AND SEE HER!!!!!

Kathleen Pierson should not have a medical license. She is dangerous. She takes advantage of her title as a Dr by convincing you that you are going crazy - and she’s good at it. She is an aggressive pill pusher who is derailing the lives of people seeking help. I am a full year into a medication disaster that she caused - she put me on a dose of an antipsychotic so high I’ve yet to find a doctor who wasn’t shocked and in disbelief when I reported my dose. I lost a year of my life to trying to come off of this drug. I am writing this over a year after her actions originally hospitalized me - from yet another hospital bed. My life is still derailed because of her. I have been hospitalized 4 times in direct relation to this drug & have been medically unable to work for a year. Please do not see this woman. She is dangerous. She doesn’t care. She clearly has some kind of agenda of her own - why else would she being doing this over and over. I would give anything to have never walked into her office. Please save yourself the grief and time lost and no not see this person. She doesn’t deserve to walk around and call herself “dr.” She’s doing this to people repeatedly and she’s doing it with a psychopathic lack of empathy or concern. I don’t know how this person sleeps at night.

Attended her for consultation. Did not listen..asked to repeat my story many times. She took a phone during my appointment.. personal one discussing food drinks and people. After 10 minutes on the phone.. she asked again why are you here?.. Later. I got a copy of referral letter( always ask to get a copy of what she writes to your referring doctor).. I read it. So many errors about my past medical ..e.g. number of kids..even her description of me.. tall I am short..wore dirty jeans.. I never wear jeans.. hair gray.. I am a brunette..What is disturbing most..pushed pills and stated she will never recover..
I have not only recovered without her. I sought a good go who listened.. Never go to this doctor

Only takes students but doesn't mention that in the referral form. Receptionist was confused as to how I got through the referral process and didn't even know the names of doctors not taking only students. Waste of a month trying to get an appointment I never even qualified for. Very typical of awful mental health "professionals" though.

Dr. Pierson was great. She listened and cared, and took her time with the assessment to really understand what I was experiencing. I felt believed and felt completely comfortable opening up about my trauma and depression. I didn't feel pressured to take medication- she listened to my reservations about pharmaceuticals and simply provided the facts and put the option out there without pressure which felt empowering. I am in good hands with this doctor.
