I have had scoliosis for over 40 years and my thoracic curvature is over 60 degrees. I have just started having pain. I am very active and have played sports , still active in snow skiing, scuba diving, hiking etc. This doctor told me Surgery will be my only option. He said that it is not imminent but in the interim I am not suppose to bend, twist or lift anything. He said no physical therapy will help. He actually told me that I am beyond help. I get that I am over 60 but I have not been dismissed by any human as I was by this doctor. For over a month I was so afraid to move and became depressed. Other professionals told me that there are things I can do to manage pain and live life until I get to the point where surgery is a must. I just got back form a fabulous vacation of scuba diving and walking. If I had listened to this doctor I would become a very depressed fat couch potato. Telling me not to lift , twist or bend and beyond help is reprehensible for a professional to tell anyone

He is the best. My other doctor seemed to write off my pain and said that nothing more could be done. Dr. Wupperman did a detailed evaluation and then recommended surgery. I dreaded another surgery but said ok. I’m very glad I did. I noticed a big relief in pain just a day or two after the surgery. Now I’m walking around and moving like I haven’t done in more than a decade. Dr. Wupperman is amazing, and he gave me my life back when other doctors treated me like a nuisance

Extremely great surgeon, takes the time to explain everything and actually listen to you and your concerns and needs. Doctor has great bedside manner and even a since of humor. I felt very comfortable with the procedure after learning from Dr. Josey what was actually happening. My back couldn't be better.

Dr Wupperman completely fixed my back, which had suffered through two failed operations by other surgeons in Austin. He also has great bedside manner, spending more time with me than the other surgeons. Don't have back surgery until you consult with him first!!

Dr. Wupperman was able to help me when two previous surgeons couldn't. I was to the point of having days when every move caused pain. I had spinal disc degeneration, and Dr. Wupperman performed surgery that helped me move better and with less pain than I had had for years. He's a great surgeon and doctor, and I recommend him highly.

I am more grateful to Dr. Wupperman than I can ever express. I had back surgery from someone else a few years, and even though I kept complaining about the pan, that surgeon told me that my back was as good as it could ever get I finally went to Dr. Wupperman based on a friend's successful surgery by him. And I only wish I went sooner. Dr. Wupperman did a thorough evaluation, took time to listen and answer all my questions (a lot of them!), and then recommended surgery. The pain following the surgery was never as bad as the pain I had experienced almost every day prior to surgery. And I was up and moving around faster than I even hoped. Some reviewers mentioned getting their life back, and I feel the same way. I never thought I would be able to move around without constant severe pain, but now 5 months after the surgery, I have less pain than I've had in decades. I can't believe I wasted those years in pain with the other surgeon, but I"m very grateful I finally went to Dr. Wupperman. This is the best spine surgeon there is.

Dr Wupperman operated on my back, and I'm doing great. I've not felt this good in many years. I send my friends and family to him.

I had back surgery done by Dr. Wupperman. He may be a good doctor but he can't count. He operated on the wrong vertebra during my surgery. Due to his error, which he admitted too, I now have to live with a surgery I didn't need, nor want. His error can not be corrected. Dr. Wupperman never once said he was sorry to me. He said so to my wife but never to me. I now live in more pain and discomfort than before the surgery. Again, he may be a good doctor, I just had a bad surgery with him. If you do use him make sure everyone knows where to operate.

The best there is! I've been to several spine surgeons, and none hold a candle to Dr. W. and he's also very attentive and warm.
