Excellent staff and scheduling. Dr.Allen did a great job explaining everything to me in detail that I have been suffering from for years from previous surgeries. In the end he was honest enough to tell me that he was not the best person to correct my issue. He facilitated a referral to another specialist and coordinated the care, the diagnosis and my surgery. I am now doing great and I am so thankful for his honesty.

If I could give Dr. Allen 10 stars, I would!! Very positive, encouraging and always gave me good news even when my bone was "taking its sweet time healing". I was anxious about beginning to walk on my foot again but at follow-up appts, he would tell me to start doing certain activities to begin the walking process again and increase my confidence that the bone would be ok. Thank you so much, Dr. Allen.

Dr. Allen is a wonderful Doctor. He is a caring man, he listens to you, explains everything well enough to understand, and he takes the time needed instead of hurrying you out the door. I love SA Sports Medicine and they have always taken care of me. I highly recommend them for your medical needs.

I was crippled for a total of 3 months! 3 months!! Which is definitely a long time but Dr Allen made it seem like no time at all! Every time I came back to see him I always received good news. Within those 3 months I also had two surgeries, which he performed, and both were a success!! I could not have asked for a better experience or a better Doctor. I am very grateful to him :)

While Dr. Allen is a kind doctor with great bedside manner, he and his staff are inefficient at their job.. being to treat an injury. His staff mixed my file up with my moms file (also a patient but very different name and injury). I was treated for an injury I didn’t sustain despite trying to clarify the mix up multiple times with multiple staff members and being told “ it was a general classification for coding purposes”. I received 5 x rays I was later told I never needed. I had asked how my X-ray looked every appointment and was told it looked fine until it was finally revealed they were al unnecessary for my type of injury. Dr Allen recommended putting me on steroids “again” despite me disclosing he had never put me on steroids. Told me he would put me in a walking boot despite him already doing that. Received MANY conflicting things from him about my condition and recovery. He contradicted himself at nearly every appointment. He doesn’t seem to read files or evaluate an injury prior to going in the room and wings it while he’s in there. When I asked his advice he didn’t give it, just stated it’s based on “how I feel”. Never actually received a medical opinion or treatment plan. While he and his staff are very polite, he seemed very uninterested in my condition or treating me. Just another patient just another dollar. Do not recommend.

I tore my achilles tendon and Dr Allen did my surgery and he an amazing job! He also got me back playing faster than expected.

I had 2 breaks in my leg and Dr Allen told me I had none! He made me feel belittled and seemingly laughed at my pain and offered me extra strength Tylenol. I went to a different doctor who found I actually had 2 breaks. Needless to say, I would never recommend this Dr to anyone! Everyone makes mistakes and I can try to understand that but he’s a doctor who should be trained to help patients not belittle them. The way Dr Allen handled my visit and his interaction with me was the worst experience I’ve ever had with an orthopedic doctor and a dangerous one! I tried walking on my leg and when I found I couldn’t I scheduled a visit with a different Dr and different practice who then found I had 2 breaks (further up my leg) and said he had considered discussing surgery because of the placement of both breaks. I told Dr Allens nurse when she called some of what this other Dr found and he never even reached out to me to apologize or make right his very wrong judgement concerning my condition. I would stay very far away from this dr!

Dr. Allen is one of the BEST! He repaired my daughter's Achilles which she completely ruptured at the age of 14 playing in a tournament for club volleyball. He is one of the most compassionate and empathetic surgeons you will ever meet. He is a true expert in his field. Here we are 9 months post repair and she is doing great and back on the court. Thank you Dr. Allen for the compassionate care you gave our daughter. From the bottom of our hearts, we THANK YOU.
