A year and a half ago I had an extremely difficult surgery for diverticulitis/enormous bladder fistula performed by Dr Hsiung. Long surgery. Very complicated. I did every single thing he recommended before and after surgery. 1 year post op I had the follow up colonoscopy. Nothing like waking up to a surgeon saying everything is all good and, unless a problem develops, he would see me in 10 years for the next colonoscopy. I will appreciate Dr Hsiung forever. He can do things other surgeons told me weren't possible. 5 stars is too few for him.

I refer to Dr Hsiung as my miracle worker. I had bleeding hemorrhoids for a while. Not only were they painful but the results in ongoing blood and fecal matter were disgusting. On the first visit, he examined me and quickly and succinctly explained that I luckily had internal hemorrhoids and I could have them tied off with a rubber band. He did the largest one that day and said we could wait on the others. Within 3 days I was totally amazed at the the change. No more pain, no more fecal slippage but after a little while a did see a little blood. So I went back and over the next three visits he got rid of the balance of the hemorrhoids. Three minor miracles to follow a major miracle. It's been a couple of months since then and everything is back to where it should be. Thanks so much again, Dr Hsiung.

My husband had a fistulotomy performed by Dr. Hsiung after undergoing years of misdiagnosis/mistreatment. Dr. Hsiung's expertise permitted perfect healing ahead of schedule; we are convinced that nobody else could have made this happen given the complex nature of the surgery. The office staff is friendly, very thorough, and make the patient/family feel at ease. Dr. Hsiung's perfectionism is extremely appreciated.

Dr. Hsiung is a well educated and talented surgeon. However, his "bedside manner" is controlling to the point of having a "God" complex. He can be completely indifferent although always polite, unfortunately, this comes across as an act. If you have to have surgery as I did, I would recommend him because of his knowledge and skill. Just find someone else for the follow-up appointments if any complications begin because that's where his weakness is. He treats the disease, not the patient.

Dr. Hsiung doesn't have good bed manners. My follow up appointment he began saying"my nurse mention you have not been listening to my orders.Who has the medical degree here you or me?"I explain as to why I have not done 1 of the 3 recommendation. Then he said "Your a beautiful woman & sometimes beautiful women don't listen & do what they want to do."My immediate response was "I respectfully disagree doctor, what does my beauty have to do with anything?"His action were condescending not acceptable.

This Dr lied to me and said that he would remove my dead colon and still make it to where I can still use the restroom. The man took out all my large intestines and left half of the dead colon in. He didn't tell me until after the surgery what he had done. Well it didn't help. I still couldn't go. I took the test that you drink that chalky stuff and wait 2 hours. 8 hours later it still hadn't come out. The Dr that did the test said that the rest of the colon he left was totally dead, I had to buy an bag to finish
I went back to him 3 times and told him to fix it and he said (What ever was wrong is my fault and to leave his office and find someone else. I am on my 5th surgery because of him. He is NOT a good Dr just a butcher
