I have been going to Dr. Lam for quite a few years now, all through university in fact. She has always been very kind, informative, gentle and fast, and goes above and beyond to make my experience great. Recently I had some cosmetic work done and it looked even better than I could have imagined! Dr. Lam even offered freezing for it as a courtesy even though it was a treatment that was very fast and (seemingly) easy! She always makes sure to communicate what she is doing and tells me my options straight up. Also if I have the need for a filling she makes it seem so easy and fast to get it fixed up without any undue pain or irritation.

The entire team at Uptown Family Dental can't be recommended enough, and although I live PT in Vancouver I still make the time to come out to New Westminster because I prefer Dr. Lam and her team over anyone else. Appointments are easy to make, and my insurance is always dealt with very smoothly. Highly, highly recommended for anyone looking for a dental office and dentist they can trust to give them the best experience and results.

I visited Dr Lam after not having been to a dentist in 15 years, so needless to say I was nervous. Dr Lam was very personable and explained everything to me so clearly that I immediately felt at ease. Although she did find MANY things wrong with my teeth (root canals, cavities, impacted wisdom teeth, even an old baby tooth!), she was very clear in explaining to me what needed to be done and why, which I really appreciated. The work she did was fast, painless, and way less scary than I had imagined, and actually now I no longer fear going to the dentist! In addition to this, her staff was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Dr Lam to anybody looking for a new dentist!

Dr Lam's office has a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. You can tell they all care about what they do. The dentistry is amazing., with great attention to detail as well as very conservative. If going to the dentist could be fun, this is it.

Giving credit where credit is due. I moved from North Vancouver to New Westminster five years ago. I was shopping around the area for dental practices online. Somehow, I bumped into Dr. Lam’s office and made appointments as I haven't got a check up for a long time. I became a regular patient since then. I have been recommending my friends and family to the practice. The assistants, Nancy and Caitlin are very helpful and friendly. The office manager, Laura, is extremely helpful and kind. She deals with the insurance for me professionally and efficiently that I did not have to pay on my own at first (my last dental office didn't do that, I had to pay at first and claim later). I love the hygienist, Vicky, who is very gentle with the manual scaling and root planning. Dr Lam is very caring and knowledgeable. She takes her time to explain thoroughly what needs to be done.

Dr. Lam is a very thorough dentist. She makes sure to explain everything to you about the procedure and how it works and the reasons for doing it. I also did a whitening treatment with her for my wedding. It turned out really nice and thanks to her I look amazing in my wedding pictures. She also explained how to maintain them. It's already been two years and they are still better than they previously were. The hygenist Vickie is also awesome. She does my cleaning and I don't even feel any pain. She is so gentle but thorough and she really motivates you to floss regularly which is very good for your overall health. The receptionist, Laura and assistants, Nancy and Caitlyn are also so nice and helpful. Definitely will bringing my future kids here as well!
