Just returned home after driving five hours in to Calgary to see Dr. Macdonald on recommendation from a friend. What a pivotal experience in health care....this Dr. gets it. He was punctual, friendly and just so immensely knowledgeable about my knee issue that I've spent the last hours of my drive thinking about the disparity between the public system and what he is offering at his private knee clinic. I was given as much opportunity to ask questions as I needed, and his explanations, diagnosis and recommendations for care were crystal clear. I've honestly never had such a good interaction with a specialist, and it was worth the drive for the information alone.
