I have been seeing this doctor for 14 years for a blood disorder. I was previously seeing a hematologist oncologist at Oshawa and was referred to Dr Colwill for further treatment. His attitude and knowledge put me at ease. He is knowledgeable and compassionate. His secretary is a sweetheart and has only been kind to me. Always returns my calls and requests.

I don’t know about the dr but the receptionist is the worst. One month I have been waiting to get blood done to have oral surgery. I called three times to find out where the few is. Never called me back. I finally get hold of her. O I sent it to you she said. Then it was I emailed it to you. No, you didn’t. So she gets fax number to fax it to the lab. “ I will fax it on my way out at five “. It’s nearly noon and no fax done. No one is answering the phone. I have a test result I duly Tuesday which now won’t happen because he probably won’t get results or I won’t even have it done. I bleed it. He is a hemotoligist. I had oral surgery booked. I can’t get it done without this dr saying it’s safe. I only heard fro
Her this week because I threatened to go on here and complain. Didn’t have her another chance. Forget it. Someone could die waiting to get blood done , which seems seems to hold the power of who gets it done. Let’s see if she ever does it today. If she had forgotten last night she would have noticed it and you would think done it right away this morning. Obviously I am not the only person with a problem

I've been seeing Colwill for about 5 years. His manner seems gruff at first but he's never been rude or condescending. I enjoy seeing him. His visits never feel rushed and his investigation and testing seems thorough. I feel like he's listening to my concerns and paying attention to my symptoms.

Doctor Colwill is very straight and to the point with info, and very thorough with tests. I have only spoken on the phone to him but he takes time to explain things. His receptionist is very rude and ignorant with patients and does not reflect well on Dr Colwell.

The receptionist woman is very aggressive, rude and not professional at all!! She is not helpful or cooperative at all with very very valid questions and requests from patients. She is a risk to everyone's mental health!! She scolds you, she humiliates you and she yells at you, and does not let you finish your question! She is beyond rude. Please get rid of her, before we change our doctor. I would give a zero, but there's no zero here

Dr. Colwill is a brilliant physician. He has been treating my dad for almost 4 years and has always been open to answering questions and providing reassurance. His assistant is super friendly and professional.

The doctor is not bad, but his receptionist is a complete danger to the patients' mental and emotional health!!! The receptionist is terribly harassing, rude and violent senior lady who does not like calling the patients or responding their calls, belittles the patients on the phone as much as she can and does not let them finish their sentence. She pointlessly gets defensive over everything and keeps arguing in a violent and harassing tone to shut the patient up and then immediately hung up. Absolutely unprofessional receptionist and terribly frustrated with her life. She should NOT BE in this profession, she should NOT be allowed to work in a health related office or deal with any patient!!!!!! This receptionist is absolutely a danger in medical and health field!! She's a danger to the patients and their mental and emotional health!!!

If you want to be a partner in care, do not see this doctor. When you have questions, he has his answers and is negative towards you. He can be rude and condescending. When you have cancer it is a stressful time for you and your family and what is needed is compassion and understanding and I see none of that here.

Of the 3 oncologists at this hospital I think he is the best, but when calling his assistant Lee she never answers her phone and the message says she will call within 24 hours but doesn't. Finding you have cancer is the most terrible thing a patient can hear and I wish the doctor could be more compassionate. Every patient puts their life in his hands and needs help with the trauma of treatment mentally as well as medically.
