While others may not think highly of Dr. Bir, my experience with her on several occasions was the complete opposite. I found her to be knowledgeable, honest and direct in her communications with me. She did an examination and sent me for tests to determine a proper diagnosis. When she did not have an answer, she recommended further testing to determine and rule out other factors related to my condition. I had been to other doctors in the past 6 years and they were not able to give me a proper diagnosis but Dr. Bir was able to. I would highly recommend this doctor.

Dr. Bir is an excellent rheumatologist. As a 20-something diagnosed with RA, it was reassuring to see someone who took the time to go through all my options and give me time to decide what I would like. I was never pushed in any one direction, but she guided me with her recommendations. She also has always written down or given me a pamphlet for anything she recommends that I look up so that I don't forget the name of the medications she is explaining.
I've always found her comfortable to speak with. She has always taken the time to listen to any concerns I have or if I am experiencing a period of stress that has caused a flare up.
It is surprising that many find her to be rude, cold and dismissive, because I have found her to the be the opposite. Perhaps it is being misinterpreted because she is willing to tell you when you need to be concerned about something and won't sugar coat it. She has only sent me to get x-rays and ultrasounds when they are needed.
Overall, I highly recommend this great doctor!

Don't bother asking her questions or clarification about your health assessment. After quickly spewing out her medical terminology, which most people might struggle to repeat..let alone even understand, she will sharply retort and say "I feel like you weren't listening to me" where she should be saying "perhaps I will explain it in lay terms or I can write these terms down for you so you can google your treatment".
I should have taken people's warnings to heart. I politely let it be known that there is no need for any further follow up appointment.
If you like robotic lack of compassion, maybe she would be a more compatible match for you.

I have seen Dr. Bir twice and have a third appointment coming up. I'm not sure about some of these negative reviews. My experience so far has been fine. She examined the x-ray and ordered an ultrasound to make sure but it just showed fluid in the joint. I'm not sure she has a warm and fuzzy personality but I think she is a competent physician. She noticed the swelling was up since the last time I saw her a couple of weeks before so she does pay attention.

I have no idea what other people on this site are talking about! I was a new patient and I read the below reviews before I went, so I wasn't expecting much...but boy was I shocked to find this doctor is amazing! She was on time, caring, patient with me and explained everything to me in great detail. I think people only right negative things because they can't be helped and don't like what they hear, but that is no fault of Dr. Bir. I would highly recommend her to anyone. And to the people who are angry...don't take it out on people who are trying to help you. Dr.Bir is a great doctor and has great bedside manner!

After being kept waiting over an hour - she spent MAYBE 8 minutes with me as a new patient. The ironic part of it is that i was going to cancel my appointment as I was not feeling well and wanted to go and honor my appt. It was the most rushed appt. I have ever had with a Dr. especially for a time time. Would not recommend.

I looked up Dr. Bir to confirm her address because I had an appointment this morning. I was horrified when I read all these negative comments and thought "holy cow" who am i going to meet. Thought of cancelling my appointment but I decided it was too late I'd better just go. When I arrived the receptionist was very polite, took me to the room while I awaited Dr. Bir. I was in total shock this Doctor showed care, concern and i felt very comfortable talking to her. Boy, i learn a huge lesson..... I know a good doctor when I see one
