I've been everywhere, spoke to every specialist in F airfield County and NYC, and tried everything. After years of living with pain, inflammation, fatigue, and brain fog I finally saw Dr. Bowman and was properly diagnosed and treated. He makes the very complex seem simple , is very patient, and careful in his approach to problem solving. He makes the time to listen to me and my symptoms instead of basing his diagnosis on lab results alone. Yes, the treatment takes time. I've been a patient for 2 years and am still healing but I've never felt better and trust that Dr. B will continue to guide and improve my health.

I've seen Dr. Bowman for 5 years, and he has helped turn my health around. He has a background in chemical engineering and worked in the pharmaceutical industry before he recognized that naturopathy was less disruptive to the body's functioning. I used my nutritional science background to research the remedies he prescribed. I also bounced the herbal remedies off my medical doctor. In both cases, the homeopathic, herbal, food-based and vitamin/mineral supplements were shown to be sound treatments for my conditions. PubMed (medical literature database) searches revealed that the supplements he prescribed had in fact been studied in labs or clinical trials and proven safe and effective for specific conditions such as inflammation. The machine he uses is odd compared to traditional western tools, but my experience has been very positive. Treatments are often subtle and may require time and patience to take hold unlike an antibiotic which acts within a day but destroys healthy gut flora.

This doctor seemed promising as he really did listen to me. However, my confidence in him waned when I gave him my previous blood work and he did not really look at it. The machine he uses to "diagnose" you he says is scientifically based but with my chem, physics, and bio background I can tell you that it really doesn't tell you anything. His "cure" for me were fancy named vitamins that were costly. I looked at all the ingredients and the amount and number of them were no different from my regular multivitamin. His "machine" he used to tell me how much better I was but I told him I still felt the same. He then said I had to buy more "supplements" and at that point I had enough. I feel like it was such a waste of $600. I would use the word charlatan for him. Just go somewhere else.

Vaughn Bowman's response
While it's certainly true you can't please everyone, there is also something to be said for having a true understanding of the material you claim to represent. Unfortunately, this just clearly isn't the case or there would be less misunderstanding of your diagnosis and the methodology involved. Anyone familiar with the nutraceutical industry knows there is so much more to a quality supplement than simply what's listed on the label. I'm sorry you had such a poor experience, but I'm quite certain your bill was nowhere near $600 as I've never charged that much for a first office call in over 17 years...even will quality supplements. I wish you the best in finding what you need to better your health.

Biography

I firmly believe in the body's innate ability to heal itself. My goal is to remove blockages and/or hindrances that otherwise prevent the natural desire of the body to obtain balance. This is typically done via Homeopathic, Botanical, and/or Nutritional modalities and lifestyle modification. As we are all unique in our physiology we need an individualistic approach to obtain optimum wellness and my desire is to develop a program tailored to each body's needs to facilitate healing.
