I find it hard to understand why anyone would accuse Dr. Hansen of being a salesman. What do you think Pharmaceutical companies are? The difference is they are selling poisons in most cases! Dr. Hansen and Natureopathic medicine is a specialty. He happens to be at the top of the list in my opinion. And what is so sad is that insurance will only cover doctors who prescribe poisons and not doctors who can help us holistically. So if anyone has a complaint it should be against insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies!

Be careful about checking with your insurance before spending thousands of dollars on labs, medication and office visits. He doesn't accept insurance and many insurance companies do not cover naturopathic medicine. He also doesn't use standard labs that most insurances cover (ie, LabCorp, Sonora Quest, etc.) to analyze blood tests. The blood tests cost a fortune and if your insurance doesn't cover because he uses "specialized" labs, you pay out of pocket, and he expects payment in full at the time of visit. When you ask why he can't send the blood tests to a lab covered by your insurance, he attempts to explain how "specialized" his blood tests are and how standard labs don't know how to analyze according to his needs. In addition, he doesn't use standard pharmacies for the meds (ie, Walgreens, CVS, etc.) which means, once again, insurance doesn't cover and you pay out of pocket. Try to get an understanding as to why, and he says the same thing....the meds are so specialized that a regular pharmacy isn't capable of filling the scripts. There's no flexibility and no attempt to try to meet the patient half-way with any possible alternatives or compromises to try to help the patient get the care he/she needs without going broke. So unless you have upwards of $5,000 to spend (out of pocket) every year on lab work, meds, and office visits, it might be worth it for you to seek care elsewhere. By the way, this is never mentioned on any of the 3TV shows he appears on.

My experiences at the Hansen Clinic were life changing for me. I was so sick with Thyroid issues, metabolic syndrome, brain fog and so many other things when I first came to visit this doctor. I cannot tell you how much better I am doing since I started seeing him and taking my supplements that he has prescribed. I am a NEW woman!!! it is like night and day for me!!! I lost at least 35 pounds, brain FOG is GONE, acid reflux is gone, my energy levels are back up to that of a 30 year old and I am 62!! Best of all he got me my weight down and has weaned me off of so many synthetic meds that regular MDs put you on to keep you coming back because you are sick. I am on Naturethroid now which is a natural thyroid treatment instead of the synthetic drugs that are man made and terrible for our bodies. My first visit with Dr. Hansen was about 90 mins to 2 hours. Now, does your PCP spend that much time listening to your issues and trying to help you> Dr. Hansen does!! He really cares about helping people feel better naturally. I started seeing him May 2014 so it has been a long slow journey but a VERY successful one!! I was sick for many, many years and it took some time to start feeling better. I so appreciate his wonderful caring staff as well. You can call them anytime to discuss what you need, or go in the office and they are always pleased to help out. Dr. Hansen will even do Phone visits!! Try and have your PCP call you on the phone --never will happen. I cannot say enough good things about this office, Dr. Hansen and his staff. You owe it to yourself to take that first visit with him and go from there--it is so worth it!!! I am so glad that I did!

Dr. Hansen has renewed my life! I went to see him because I wanted the “spring” back in my step, and the last skirt I bought was a size bigger and that was the last straw. The changes happened so gradually that until I started on the supplements and hormone replacement therapy I didn’t realize just how depleted I had become and what effects that was having on my general well-being. I felt the difference in the first week! His office staff is very responsive and I feel like they care about me, especially Sharon. My primary care physician wanted to put me on hormone replacements that are not bio-identical and after talking to girlfriends and researching them on the internet I just didn’t want to risk my overall health or experience all the other side effects. I wanted to let you know that Dr. Hansen has made a new “ME” over the past four months. I saw a few of Dr. Hansen’s interviews on Channel 3 and wrote down his name and phone number. It still took me a few months to make an appointment. All the blood tests were taken and the results quickly told me what I already thought. I was not at my best, by any means. Since then, with several supplements, I am sleeping through the night for the first time in 27 years! It doesn’t end there, my 8 years of hot flashes are gone, my libido is up, and I have enough excess energy to focus on exercise and losing weight. As of this note, I have lost 27 pounds and my goal is another 15. Keep in mind, I work an average of 60-70 hours a week teaching high school math and I’m still finding energy…this is a miracle! My experience with Dr. Hansen and his staff is beyond amazing. I came to him feeling totally awful. I had no energy, couldn't sleep, memory loss, no sex drive, itchy skin, feeling anxious and on top of all this I was gaining weight. At the time I was already on hormone replacement creams and getting absolutely no relief. I finally felt bottomed out. After seeing Dr. Hansen, within the first week of treatment, I was feeling tremendous positive reactions to my treatment plan that he prescribed to me. Now I'm in the third week of treatment and feeling very much more like my old (young) self again. Dr. Hansen has made an enormous difference in my quality of life. I am 47 years old and suffered from a variety of ailments such as; fatigue, muscles aches, asthma, migraines etc. He took a "whole body" approach and was more interested in getting my system healthy than he was in finding a diagnosis! It has been 8 months and I feel amazing! The key is change takes time - so you must be patient. He is expensive but I would pay it ten times over for the long term results. I'm now off all prescription medications! Thank you Dr. Hansen for all you do to make this a healthier world one patient at a time!

Not good at working with patient. You spend thousand of dollars at his office and then they refuse to give you your meds, unless you meet with him monthly. I would not recommend him if you want a doctor who truly cares about you. It's more about the money than doing right by the patient.
