Biography
Dr. Chioma Okammor is one of our award-winning, on-site pediatricians at Legacy Medical Center, where she provides the highest quality care possible to her patients. As a parent of two children herself, she relates to parents by understanding what it takes to raise healthy children and balance work and home. She treasures the time spent with her families, and offers a wide spectrum of medical services to her young patients. Dr. Okammor was awarded the Compassionate Doctor Recognition from Vitals.com, and she was recognized as a Patients' Choice physician. Dr. Okammor is a board-certified pediatrician and is recognized as such by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is also a member of the Dallas County Medical Society, as well as the Texas Medical Association. She received her M.D. from The University of Kansas and completed her Family Practice Residency at The University of Texas Southwestern/St. Paul. Her passion for pediatrics led her to return to The University of Texas to complete a pediatric residency as well. Dr. Okammor worked for a private group practice in Plano, TX for more than 8 years prior to joining Village Health Partners. Dr. Okammor offers medical services and treatment to children of all ages. She offers well-checks and immunizations for infants, and continues to monitor and track their health and progress throughout childhood. She works with parents to ensure that their children are healthy, live well-balanced lives, and are educated on how to properly care for themselves. She treats minor injuries, such as cuts and scrapes, fractures, minor burns, and other ailments. Dr. Okammor is committed to advanced training and strives to keep up with the latest medical knowledge in order to better advise her patients. Whether it’s a warm hug or a picture drawn for her by a patient, Dr. Okammor treasures the moments she spends helping them in their time of illness and celebrating their accomplishments in times of wellness. When Dr. Okammor is not tending to patients, she spends time cheering for her daughters at their various activities. She loves to volunteer her time to the community and assists with Sunday school. Along with her husband, Dr. Okammor is committed to raising their children to be good stewards of Christ. She also loves to cook, try new recipes, and has a special love for Thai food.

For my child's annual checkup we waited almost close to 2 hours before the doctor came in. Horrible service, specially when they know that they are not going to make money off your visit.
