His staff is helpful and friendly and Dr. Vera is professional and knowledgeable. He takes time to speak with me and he answers any questions. I appreciate his bedside manner and his calm demeanor. He helped me 15 years ago and I have had a need again recently. And I think he’s still wonderful!

I could not ask for a more knowledgable doctor in pain management with excellent skills in ESI and Rhizotomy procedures. No billing issues ever. I found staff, nurses and Dr Vera to all be caring and understanding of pain issues. Dr. Vera really is a great doctor who I highly recommend.

Staff / Facility was good, billing / business practices awful... don't be surprised to get collection notice / threats months after your visit... even if you attempt to pay any outstanding bills in person

John Floreale - I have recently been treated by Doctor Vera for lower back pain at his Lancaster Dr. location. First, staff are very friendly and interactive. After X-rays it was concluded that my nerve was being pinched as the last two disks appear damaged / worn out. This was easy to see as I looked at the images myself and could see the abnormal wear. Dr. Vera did a lower Lumbar steriod injection and within 1 hour of leaving his office the pain was gone. As I recognize that everyone has a different experience with Doctors and procedures, I would highly recommend Dr. Vera first prior to any other Doctor. Finally, while I do acknowledge that depending on your insurance coverage your overall co-pay / bill may vary and I do understand that some people get upset about getting an additional bill in the mail, but would you rather still be in pain ? Money can be replaced, your health and time cannot. And if you are really worried about the money, stay home.

Dr Vera is all about the money and gives me about 10 seconds and becomes visibly agitated if I describe my symptoms or ask questions. After an accident, various surgeons are proposing serious surgery and Dr. Vera has not even suggested that I see a neurologist make sure the surgeons (who refer Vera biz) are not exploitative and surgery/$ happy. My new pain guy immediately ordered new MRI's and a neurology consult regardless of whether he offends any surgeons who might lose a surgical opportunity.

I would never return or refer Dr Vera, though I was a previous patient of two years I was still charged 350.00 for a 5 minute office visit. I asked before procedure how much would be my out of pocket amount and was told under 200.00. After procedure I received several bills totaling 600.00. Be warned though the procedure is being done at his office the billing goes through the hospital, which I was not aware of that. When I asked them about not being told they could not give me an answer and said that I had to deal with the hospital billing department. As for the actual procedure I was given to much anesthesia and became very ill and ended up in more pain than before the procedure. I've had this procedure done twice before and had never experienced what I did this time. I called his office and all I got in reference to the procedure was that they made a note of it for the next procedure, but I refuse to return to him. I feel all he cares about is the money and not his patient.

I have had a positive experience with Dr. Vera. He does seem to run his practice like a business. If I needed more of a holistic doctor I would try someone different, but for this issue I am confident in his abilities. I have deginerative disc problems and I do trust his procedures.
