Incredibly disappointed in the way I was treated by Dr Sonenshine. I am desperately trying to find answers to my GI issues that have been going on for years. My primary care recommended I see a GI specialist, which is what brought me to Dr Sonenshine. He told me “well, you’re not dying (referring to my normal labs from my primary care) and you’re not in pain (referring to my current state of not having a flair up) so I don’t see the point in pursuing tests.” He offer absolutely no ideas, concern, or solution. I had a call with my primary care physician and she was very surprised by his response and how he dismissed me. She recommend I get a second opinion.

I had a very Bad experience with this unprofessional doctor he deletes reviews all the time and it’s really a problem. I would not Reccomend under any circumstance

Dr. Sonenshine is a brilliant physician - have seen many over the years with IBD - he is always prepared, follies up and actually responds online - every physician is opinionated of course - that’s what we want - he listens , then respectively responds - he is the best of the best!!

This is only about Dr Soneshine not the entire practice- I have never had such a negative feeling after speaking with an adult in my adult life let alone an actual Physician before. I went to visit Marc B. Sonenshine on Tuesday morning and just to paint the picture there was literally one other person in the waiting room- ONE- and when I left there was also ONE other person in the waiting room so it's not like he was very busy. I was there on a recommendation from my dad's friend. I'm only 29 but I have had a series of Gastro intestinal issues. Marc B. Sonenshine was incredibly rude, when he came in the room He acted like he was way too busy to be there and like there were 50 more important patients than me waiting to see him. He also acted very disinterested in my situation and like he couldn't wait to leave. I was so disappointed because I heard good things about him and also I took time off of work to be there. Forget bedside manner, this guy was a total and I mean total a**hole. In addition to being incredibly rude, unprofessional and disrespectful he also seemed extremely unknowledgeable and could not help me at all it was like talking to a school nurse, what a total waste of time and money. I would truly discourage anyone from taking the time to go see this "doctor" looking for anything other than a very disappointing experience that really ruined my day. Since this appointment I have spoke with other people who had similar experiences with Dr Soneshine and they all say the same thing very mediocre doctor, working for a big regular practice, that doesn't really care about his patients, with a very rude attitude.

You know how you fill out those long questionnaires, and then no one looks at them? That's NOT Dr. Sonenshine. He reviewed the lengthy assessment tool, asked relevant questions, did a quick exam, and formulated a reasonable plan.

He is a wonderful doctor. Always responds to my emails right away. He guided me through my first pregnancy with crohns disease. I recommend him all the time.

Got offended if I asked questions about treatment plan - acted like I was questioning his knowledge and took it personally. Then, just got downright rude and treated me with disdain. It was like his ego can't take a patient asking questions. Absolutely refused to talk about pain relief or possibility of disability even for someone in 50's who has 2 autoimmune diseases.

Dr. Sonenshine's service extends beyond the office visit. He personally followups with his patients by phone and email. I was impressed when he passed me his cell phone number to contact him, as Doctors are usually difficult to reach. Normally, you have to wait for the "Nurse on Call" to return your call. I feel Dr. Sonenshine is vested in getting his patients feeling better vs. just another patient coming in the door. I would recommend him to others.

Much like the first review, he was totally unprepared on every visit. I would go over my symptoms on every visit. Wanted me to take a test that I am long past needing, yes I have reflux and the medicine does not touch my symptoms. Always in a hurry and out the door.
New doctors staff is prompt. They still have not received records from Sonenshine office and the voice mail at his office tells you not to leave the same message twice.

In order of events. Did not review my records from my referring physician prior to my visit. An email was sent prior that it was urgent/important. Misrepresented his knowledge of my condition. Follow up was his reading up on my condition on the internet. He and staff constantly asked how they could help but did nothing. Sent orders to wrong hospitals and gave me wrong contact numbers after several attempts to secure therapeutic procedures. Kept pushing for expensive invasive procedures without knowledge or further tests. turns out one test result was erroneous and this would have halted one of the expensive/invasive procedures. After firing him, his Patient Advocate called. "What can I do to help[?" I told her I needed results of recent test sent to my new GI. She, like Dr. Sonenshine and his staff, never followed through with their promises.
