Dr. Kelley performed total knee replacement surgery on both my wife and I. The experience was fantastic, sure there is some pain to endure but we were both back to living a pain free life in just a few weeks. In fact, with Dr. Kelley's permission I played 4 holes of golf 6 weeks after surgery and played a full round in less than 10 weeks post surgery.

Dr. Kelly replaced a right hip. I never suffered any discomfort with the exception of slight soreness in the hip when I accidentally tweaked it in my sleep which occurred only 3 times.
After the surgery I was never in need of pain medication and 6 weeks later have not taken any pain medication at all.
The staff personal are all personable and professional. They answer questions without hesitation.

I have had a hip replacement (two years ago) and knee replacement (6 weeks ago), and am extremely pleased with the wonderful results achieved by Dr. Scott S. Kelley, his PA Jamey Messersmith, and their staff. I was having to use a walker prior to my hip surgery and experiencing very severe pain. Within hours after surgery, the pain was gone and I was starting to walk again--it was like a miracle. My recovery, following the guidelines and protocol provided by Dr. Kelley, allowed me to resume my normal daily activities in 5 weeks. The muscle sparring procedure he utilizes for hip replacement allows for a less restrictive and quicker recovery. Six weeks ago Dr. Kelley performed knee replacement surgery. I was walking the first day and home the next day. Again, following his recovery protocol, I am starting to play golf again and back to normal daily activities. Dr. Kelly has a passion to do it right and his leadership instills that passion for the best customer care with all his staff. His communication skills are impressive and he has created informative videos that provides the patient helpful facts and guidelines to better prepare the patient for upcoming surgery and the recovery process. He has a keen knowledge of surgical practices and a brilliant knowledge of hip and knee replacement surgery. He is an expert and I highly recommend him.

My husband had complications from total knee replacement by Kelley. Developed a blood clot and could not take the pain meds he was prescribed. Dr.'s staff was not responsive. Dr. Kelley took my husband off all PT for a long time, and he didn't regain range of motion. The dr. told my husband he was not improving because he had a negative attitude, along with a few other choice comments. Never been treated so rudely by a dr. Seeking second opinion, and new doc said my husband has developed a huge amount of scar tissue. He's 12 weeks out from surgery and still has stiffness, some pain and very limited ROM. Worst experience of our lives.

In August, 2016, Dr. Scott Kelley did a Total Hip Replacement on my left hip. I was instructed in keeping the wound area clean before and after surgery. I woke up in recovery around 4pm the day of surgery. The next day I was discharged and home about 2pm – less than 24 hours after surgery. I took pain medication for 10 days, and walked with two crutches for 14 days -- then, one crutch for another 10 days. So after 3 ½ weeks, I was walking relatively pain free without any support. I just had my six week checkup, and will start mild exercising on a stationary bike and elliptical runner next week. What an experience!! Since 1993, I have had surgery 7 times on my spine. My Hip Replacement by Dr. Kelley is far and away the best surgical experience that I have had. Two axioms for you to consider: 1) practice makes perfect, and 2) God did not create all surgeons equal. Dr. Kelley does hundreds of procedures a year (hip and knee) and my belief after seeing him in action and talking to some who know him is that he seeks perfection in himself and all around him. He was totally professional yet friendly in his relationship with me. His protocols for cleanliness during the operation are better than any I have experienced. And his support staff is skilled and professional in their jobs. I give Dr. Kelley my highest recommendation to those considering a Hip or Knee replacement.

I did a lot of research to find Dr. Kelley. Virtually everything pointed to him being the absolute best for hip replacement surgery in my area. After my surgery (writing this about 4 months post surgery end of March 2016) I continued to get affirmation of him being the BEST from many people as they learned of my surgery and who did it. But... THE best affirmation is how well and quickly I have recovered. Part of that was due to me being, as a 70 year old male, as active and is as good of physical shape I was going into the surgery... BUT the quality of the surgery was outstanding! About 3 hrs post surgery I was walking down the hall. The PT/nursing staff insisted that I use crutches, but I could have walked without them. At about 1 week post surgery I no longer used crutches at all. Within about 10 days I was able to drive (it was my right hip) and walk such that no one could tell I had had the surgery. I could go on and on, but suffice it to simply say that I had a truly great outcome!

Bad experience with knee replacement. Have nerve damage from the surgery. Won't go into detail but would not recommend.

Dr. Kelley is extremely skilled and caring. I'm very pleased with my knee replacement, the minimal scar, and my fast recovery. The entire office staff is professional and knowledgeable and the surgical procedure that took place at Duke Regional Hospital was excellent.
