Dr. Homik has been my RA specialist since way back when Kathy M was her rapport nurse. Dr. Homik; has an honest approach towards the disease and the treatments available. Her staff is fantastic to work with, and they both take time to listen to YOU. No, Dr. Homik is not my first RA DR. in Alberta. I have had three total, with the other two both retired now. I was misdiagnosed at 25, moved to Alberta, and was reassessed and been living and fighting the disease for over 32 years, and I'm still walking 90% pain-free most days. All thanks to Dr. Homik for listening and caring. Keep in mind, she is part of a larger team of specialists in the Kaye Edmonton Centre, and they all are a fantastic group of people.

If I could rate a zero I would. Completely unprofessional and lacks the skills to assess previous rheumatology history when the entire package is handed to her. Avoid like the plague.

Dr Homik misdiagnosed me. I feel like she wanted to give me an answer so made a guess and told me to come back if I get swelling in my joints. I did get swelling in my joints and tried to make an appointment to see her but I was told I needed to get a new referral to see her. I decided to see a different rheumatologist and finally received the correct diagnosis and I'm receiving cortisone steroids, humira and physio therapy now. Overall I was pretty disappointed with her and would not recommend seeing her. She caused a lot of issues for me with her misdiagnosis.

I've been seeing her for several years, for osteo and inflammatory arthritis. Patiently worked with me to find the right DMARD medication for me (I had bad reactions to the first few). I never have to wait long to see her, front desk staff are awesome, as are the 'back office' staff that I see before her. Fantastic 'bed side' manner., and always willing to send me for blood work and other tests such as x-rays and scans - all of which are speedily accomplished in the same building

If I could give a negative rating I would. Completely failed to diagnose further progression of ra and completely missed many diagnoses. Some people need to retire already. When u can’t answer questions re your specialty you should quit

This doctor is useless. She did nothing to help me. I got a referral to another doctor.

Dr Homik was great when I met her at U of A and we came up with a plan for me to get better. Now after 3 months, my other doctors/specialists are trying to contact her to get plan rolling but she will not return emails and phone calls.

Dr. Homik is an amazing woman. I was 17 when I first seen her. Being newly diagnosed with systemic lupus and being in so much pain I could not move, she went above and beyond to help me. I cannot say enough good things about her.
